What I do is soak them in HOT water, then wash them with antibacterial soap and bake them for 30 minutes. I never had any problems with diseases or anything like that.

They tend to do that hahaha I've had a couple reptiles including geckos, water dragons, anoles and iguanas, and every time I gave them crickets, a couple would drown in the water bowl.

Hmmm I'm not sure if that's the best thing for a chameleon though, it doesn't look very ventilated, I think this one (http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/screen_terrarium.php) would be better
