Please help!!! Chameleon refuses live food?

I commend you for making the switch! Some people come here asking for help and then don't take the advise given so bravo in not being too stubborn to change. :D That said, It really is the best thing for your Cham! I remember your previous post about the canned food. I agree with what jimmy...

    Meet Beth!!

I went to the fedex depot on Wednesday and came home with a Dez/Jannb baby girl!! You can tell how much love and care was put into raising her! Straight out of the box (literally) she was eating and showed no fear when I gave her my hand for a ride to the outdoor cage or just some human...

    funny situation

He'll be all right. My male veiled just finished sheding and I caught him eating the skin that was coming loose around him mouth. I think it's pretty normal.

A new cage - critique me

That looks really, really good! Where did you get your UVB light fixture? I've been looking for a bigger one that hold more bulbs!

New to forum, new to chameleons!

I use a standard 60W house bulb in my basking light. Just make sure it doesn't get wet when you mist. It tends to burn them out. They're cheaper than basking bulbs too. Depending on where you live and ambient temp, you may need to use a higher or lower watt bulb, but I'd start with a 60W.

New to forum, new to chameleons!

Get a large tote, cut a hole in the lid and glue on some window screen. much better than a cricket keeper! Throw in some empty toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, and/or egg carton for them to hide in and VIOLA! If the crickets try to climb out, you can run some clear packaging tape along the...

    DIY Finished !

Looks really good! I'm a sucker for a good DIY cage! Like Jann said, I would add a few more branches. I like the separation you have in there too. It'll save you from having to build a bigger cage once your little guy out grows it! Great plant too! I can't wait for mine to fill out that nicely!

    I dont like crickets

I agree with Sandra! My adults smell awful! No matter how often I clean their tub! My feeders don't smell much at all! I feed them greens and fruits mixed with Bug Burger so I mostly smell that. If you get 1/2" crickets you won't have any noise. If they are escaping the bin either get a taller...

    I dont like crickets

I'd go with Dubia beetles! Really they're Dubia roaches, but roaches creep me out so I am unofficially changing their name :) They live a long time, they don't make noise, they don't smell and I hear their poo is good plant fertilizer! I think they cost a bit more than crickets but from what I...

    Table top fountain?? :)

I would avoid it in a Cham cage unless you plan to clean it at least once a day. If they poo in it or crickets die in it it can cause some serious health issues should they drink the water. I think they work better for frogs and other types of reptiles, but not chameleons which is a bummer...

    Crickets in cat liter

This is just an idea, but something I've been thinking about doing with my breeder crickets.... I have a tall tote that I keep them in. I could clean it every day and they'd still smell. I'm thinking...I will cut a hole in the top and fastened some sort of strainer to the underside and fill...

    Moldy vermiculite

I believe the point is, people have used the powder to treat moldy eggs...if you sprinkle it in the moldy vermiculite and it were to get in the eggs (even though they are not moldy) it would cause no ill effects.

How to recapture all escaped crickets!
