I don't trust my veiled around panthers! Last time he accidentally met a friendly panther he tried to mount him and then bit him after the panther turned not green. Not cool man. The panther however just kinda sat there and didn't even care until the veiled started feeling him up. My veiled is a...
Some of mine have done that. At one point I put in a cup just so they would make it easy for me to clean up! :) I didn't have to go looking for a poop, just pull the cup out, toss it, and replace.
Hmm. I don't really know if one is more toxic than the other or what. I just use the dwarf umbrella plants from my local home improvement stores and it seems fine. Sorry I can't help much with that. Maybe if you can find if they are toxic to other reptiles you can find out? If I knew for sure...
Okay, these suckers are hatching faster than I can feed them to my animals. Mine shouldn't be the only ones spoiled for the holidays!
Until this batch is sold, I will throw in an additional:
Small ooth when you buy 3
Medium ooth when you buy 4
Large ooth when you buy 5
That means you will get...
They seem to be toxic to mammals, but the chameleons can eat them without any issues. I've never heard of issues anyways. If a veiled can eat nearly a whole pothos plant and not have any problems, I would think they are okay to use. My veiled likes his umbrella plant and had nearly eaten one...
The biggest one they make is plenty big, but who doesn't want a nice fancy giant enclosure :)
They do look like slight bruises, and in my experience bruises like that go away fairly quickly. I wouldn't worry unless anything changes.
I can't breed squishy worms for the life of me, so I stick to stuff that I can do and leave the silks/horns to treats. Butterworms are nice because they can be chucked in the fridge for 4 plus months (and they are always a huge hit, even with my pygmies.) I also always have supers, buffalo...
Check fauna classifieds. Some times keepers need to sell of extras but don't have websites and what not, so it can actually be very, very cheap. However, don't buy all 1000 at the size you need, as by 4 months from now they will all likely be adults. I suggest getting a bunch of smalls and...
Aaron is great. He has always been pretty helpful to me, and has some pretty good prices. I once had put some feeders in the cart and checked shipping but decided not to buy at the moment. After a few days he contacted me and asked if anything was wrong. I was surprised, but it was nice to know...
I think mine got it from injuries to the mouth by feeders. Or that's what it looked like, but I have no idea. I've only had three that got it, and the worst one (kept coming back regardless of antibiotic, but went away with reptaid) already had it when I got her. I was told that she had had...
I wouldn't do this. However, if I am remembering correctly, she is very young. I can only get a few of my babies to hand feed, but all of them will eventually hand feed with persistence when they are older. I don't even bother when they are less than 5 months now. And some I wait until 8 or more...
Try using a soft rubber spatula to open his mouth. I gently, but firmly, wiggle the thinnest edge between the teeth until they open up and then slid it in. You can then wedge it a little so that it stays open. The spatulas are soft enough that they won't hurt themselves if they bite it, but firm...
Is it just one eye? Can you perhaps fill out the how to ask for help form (it could be husbandry related.)
If it is only one eye , you can try these two things without any harm (except maybe a little stress) to the chameleon. Buy a sterile, plain saline solution (no preservatives) and squirt a...
In addition to the above suggestions, it might also help to put lots and lots of branches/vines/perches all over the place. Sometimes chameleons will stop screen climbing if they get more climbing area. It may or may not work for a young chameleon though.
Even though the outside temps are cold, you never know what temps the package is exposed to. It could be quite warm at one particular stop along the way. It might be okay to throw them in the fridge, but it's also possible that they were exposed to warm temps long enough that they have broken...
I've never fed them bug burger specifically, but those things will eat anything. I had some on news paper once and forgot to feed them. Nearly all the newspaper was converted into rainbow snail poop by the next day!
I bet them would eat it just fine.
The room I keep my roaches in gets in the low 50s in the winter (and can also go up to the 70s during the day.) I still use a dimmer. It doesn't seem to impact the roaches in a negative way (still breed just fine.) I just shoot the temp gun in there every once in a while and adjust the dimmer...
How old is the bulb? He shouldn't be having aim problems. Sometimes dehydration can cause an unsticky tongue. Some people have used a very small amount of vit A to try and fix tongue problems. A teeny tiny drop from a liquid gel vit A pill on the back of a feeder wouldn't hurt. Alternatively...
