    Wild Insects

People overreact to feeding wild insects. For the most part, wild insects can be safe for your cham to eat if you make sure to catch them from a place safe of pesticides. I've fed wild bugs to my chameleons for a very long time and they have never gotten sick from eating them. It adds a variety...

    How much ?!!!

Wow, I didn't know home depot/lowes had plants safe for chameleons for so cheap. I may go today to check to see if I can find a nice hibiscus. I've got a pothos in my panthers cage right now but another plant won't hurt. And for 10 bucks, it's a steal.

    Waking up chams

I've accidentally woken up my chameleon before. He did the same puffed up and fired up some crazy colors. Chameleons definitely don't like being woken up!

new and not sure whats wrong

According to that picture you definitely have a male sambava there. If he was female you wouldn't see such coloring, just a peachy color. Around that age chameleons can sometimes get aggressive. Not all chameleons are ok with the idea of being handled. Just give him time. Looks very healthy.

    Masoala

Did you purchase him at the Daytona Reptile Expo from the FlCham booth? When I went there was one male masaola left at their booth which I was very tempted on purchasing. Their prices for such a rare locale was very reasonable, too.

    Back as a Chameleon Owner

Haha, that is a pretty cool name suggestion! I like how it incorporates all three locales. Would fit him nicely.

Thanks, jannb. You know, I haven't really gotten down to naming him yet. Maybe you guys can help me come up with a good name for him.

    Back as a Chameleon Owner

I use to own a veiled and a RB/BB ambilobe but I had to leave for military training for 6 months so I had no choice but to give them up. I recently got back and saw a great deal on a nosy be 50%, ambanja 25%, ambilobe 25% panther chameleon at my local pet store and decided to purchase him. That...

    Where to find locusts?

You will not find grasshoppers for sale anywhere in the US either for the same reason.

    Where to find locusts?

If you live in the United States, or anywhere in North America for that matter locusts are considered a pest and therefore are not sold here. If you want any, you will just have to search outside for them. I live in the south and find plenty every day in my backyard. However, if you live in...

    My Friendly Be

Very cool! I really hope my little panther cham turns out as friendly as yours as he gets older. So far he's about 4 months and takes kindly to being hand fed.

Will the Cham eat a small lizard?

Sorry to bring this thread back, but instead of starting a whole new thread on the same subject I'd rather just post in this one. My 4 month old panther chameleon is kept in an outdoor enclosure 24/7. This morning I noticed a baby anole had somehow snuck into the cage. Before I could go in and...
