My veiled hasnt touched a cricket in over 2 years. They can just sometimes go off food items. They are horrible insects anyway lol I just avoid them now for my other chams :p
From what I've read alot of people do this aswell. I think making it a jelly is just to do away with vegetables and a source of water but I believe it can be better to dust on some veggies instead and makes it last longer
Same happens with my panther. He's usually green with black bars but when hunting can turn to green, blue and red or green and yellow but when he is sleeping is usually all white nearly. I'm hoping the dark colours are just down to getting settled in foe now.
Thanks for all the info guys! I knew they didn't give off any if not a small amount of heat for a basking light was just thinking of doing away with on warm days but Now see that won't work :p
Think I'll look into the grow lights now as to stop the plants withering away every so often lol.
Okay cool thanks. I suspected I'd still need a basking light but thought I'd ask anyway lol. There really is nowhere else I can move her to cause we have a cat and dog. When it is warmer I can just open a window but I resent in doing so cause the room always ends up with bugs getting in as I...
Thanks for the info.
I never really thought about if at one point she may need a little extra heat for digestion or sickness. Good call! Currently I'm using a 30w but even on warm days it can still get that high and it's not even pointing directly downwards. I'll see if I can source anything...
Now that is cool! How do you control the humidity or do they just have a constant water supply for them? ( if that would make any difference at all, cause I know with monitors it leads to gout if not always within the correct parameters)
I know people have been starting to use Led bulbs for added lighting etc more so now and they can be quite expensive. I came across these bulbs in B&Q and just wondered if anyone has any experience with similar? I wouldn't be using them for grow lights or anything like that but more so for added...
Thanks! Hope all goes well with your vieled too!
I'm not too sure if it's constipation but she has been doing the toilet every few days and they have been HUGE lol
Thanks alot that puts my mind to ease a bit more :p. Hopefully I'll get used to this laying business and stop panicking so much lol. She seems bigger today but just ate 3 dubia roaches heavily dusted, not wanting to give her too much just now or would that be a good thing if I did?
Hey there.
I'd say just over a week now since I noticed her dark colours and some roaming down the bottom. For a laying bin I have a standard sized bucket filled with damp washed play sand. She used it a few months back when laying. If she is still eating does this mean she still has a while...
Ok its been over a week now and there is still no sign of laying. She is still eating and drinking though and looking very fat. I have also got her cage covered up with a white bed sheet so she can't see anyone else. When should it become a vet trip?
Edit: she isn't doing much roaming at...
They are infertile. What I meant to say was she has been showing signs of being gravid over the past week, I dont know how long she has actually been producing the eggs inside her lol.
I'm still new to females laying, only happens once since I've had her so apologies for all the questions. :o
My female has been gravid for about a week now. Well I'm assuming she is as she's got alot fatter and is showing her gravid colours most of the time but not all. She is eating and drinking as normal however but she is a pig lol. She has only layed once before, a few months back. When should I be...
