I am figuring that out now. Thank you for the info. I will get the calcium without D3. What do you thikn I should gut load with? I have Romaine hearts, oranges, carrots and apples. I also have some high quality dog food (dry), Someone said not to use that though.

have 55 gallon fish tank i'd like to use to house a chameleon

Fish tank is a bad idea. You really should read up more on Chameleons. They are a lot of work. You have to have a large enough cage. You put him.her in a fish tank and they will be miserable. You sound responsible enough to not want that.

Pics of Gonzo looking a little dark

Gonzo says thanks for the compliment. I will get some calcium without D3 right away. Until then tomorrow I will give him food just gut loaded. He is really super bright at night so, maybe less calcium and will get brighter. By the way, how much should I let him eat?

Basking temp is 90. Here is a pic of his enclosure. He will eat probably 10 Dubias if I allowed him. He is a piggy. I usually feed 5-6 a day and every couple days give him Superworms (2) I dust everything before feeding him. I feed the Dubias and Superworms Romaine lettuce, carrots and...

    Chameleon won't eat

I agree more foliage in his cage. I use a Schefflera plant in mine. How was his eating pattern compared to now? I know mine loves to hide BUT, when I hold out his food bowl with some yummy Dubia Roaches he flies to eat them right out of the bowl.

    Misters pros & cons

He is just about 14 months old. I use a Monsoon RS 400, that works perfectly. It sprays a fine mist. Gonzo just doesn't like a blast of mist. LOL I do realize he needs his moisture so he has to get used it. I mist him with distilled water. The cage is 24x24x48 with some nice vines and a...

    Misters pros & cons

Thanks for the help! I want to make sure my Veiled doesn't get showered and piss him off...LOL His colors are beautiful when he goes to bed. During the day his colors are not so bright or vivid. Is that normal? He is not dark or anything like that, just not as vibrantly colored.

    Misters pros & cons

Ok, now I have a question LOL How do you mount the mister nozzles on the screen AND where should I point them? My Veiled hates the shower. I don't think he is sued to it. His old owner misted him 2 times a day and didn't have an automatic mister.

    Misters pros & cons

I have a Monsoon RS 400. I maintain it very well. Don't use the fill opening on top. I just take the top off and fill with distilled water. Some people say it is junk but, I have no problems with it or the timer. I got it off Ebay for 60 some odd dollars. Keep an eye on Ebay for deals on those...

    It has begun!

I was going to build one myself but DIYCAGES had what I needed shipped for less than 100. That sold me. Took all the headaches and hassle out it. LOL

    Great experience with DIYCAGES

Yes, I think it is. It is worth the money compared to other cages of the same size. Also, the customer service is excellent.
