    Common Misconception on Leaf Litter

I use a basking light for one of my enclosures. It's way off to the side, so they have the option of using it or not. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I use 2.0s or used 5.0s for UVB light. Plants grow well, pygs do great, I'm happy.

    Pygmy Owners

Definitely higher maintenance than something like a Leopard Gecko or Crested Gecko. I'm not sure about other reptiles though, as I don't have experience. BTW, I'm glad your friend asked *before* he decided to put several reptiles together. Nice that he's doing his research. Thanks for...

    I have 2 like this

I don't know how you'd hang it. I have mine in pots and let them grow up, but my enclosure is set up differently than yours, and I only have a small chameleon in there. Hopefully someone can tell you how to hang one in your particular enclosure, because I think it would look great, especially...

    Pygmy Owners

Pygmies can only be housed with other pygmies of the same species, or by themselves. One male per enclosure, or you can have one male plus females, or a group of females -- provided there is enough space, of course.

    I have 2 like this

Looks like a great setup to me. How about hanging a pothos from the top, and letting it grow down? Just a thought.

Wanting to get a Cham but?

The barking isn't a problem, as long as the dog doesn't poke around the cham's enclosure. The chameleon will get used to the dog walking around as long as the dog doesn't bug it.

    Something different, bulldog puppies!

Eyes open and getting playful -- the fun part of puppies. I'm surprised she didn't need a c section. Around here no one even assumes that their Bulldog will conceive or whelp naturally, so AIs and c sections are routinely done. Sad for the breed, imo. Enjoy those puppies!

    3-Month Faly Boy!

I agree with Carol! He looks so big in the pics, and is quite colourful for a little guy. When he gets settled in can you get a pic with him on/near your hand? Good luck with him!

New Pygmy are egg-bound and laying...what do I do?

Only one male per enclosure, as males will fight. You can put females together, and toss in a male if you want babies. The male shouldn't fight with the girls. 1:3 or 1:2 is nice if you have enough space.

Great pictures. Thanks so much for posting them!

    Heat

Yes, 85 is way too hot for them! In addition to cool daytime temps, they need to be even lower at night. Maybe just not the right time for you to get some.

    Potential new Pygmy enclosure

Well I'd live there (if I was a pygmy!). Very nice with lots of hiding spots and highways. My only suggestion is to get rid of one of the lights. Some people use one for UVB, some don't use any. I think two is a bit of overkill -- just too bright in there (remember they're living close to...

    sad week at my house

I am so sorry for your loss. All life is precious, and it is sad when anything dies (yes, even bugs). With time your heart will heal. RIP little pygmy.
