However, when I visited the store I was shocked. Cages are dirty, chameleons cages are not taken car of at all. All plants are almost dead...

Does this guy look OK to you?

So far he has not eaten anything today also. here are couple of photos I took today. This is him in relaxed state. The branch he is on is new. It is not right under the basking light but next to it. Since I placed that branch he spends 90% of the time on it. He only moves from it when...

Does this guy look OK to you?

I notice that when I get close to him, or when I try to pick him up he puffs a little bit. When he is not bothered he looks smaller.

Does this guy look OK to you?

So, he did not eat today also. I looked on the web to see if I can find any reasons why and found this site. http://webhome.idirect.com/~chameleon/owners/chapter5-sub4.html The only explanation that is would make sense is this one: Hunger Strikes Causes: When your chameleon stops...

Does this guy look OK to you?

Sorry I misspoke. I have the 40 Watt bulb. I started with 65 and replaced it with 40. I also have the laser thermometer and I have not seen his body temp going more the 85 degrees, which I think is OK for him. Most of the time his body temp is in mid 70s.

Does this guy look OK to you?

Can you tell me if this guy looks OK to you? I got him about two month ago and everything was OK. About a week or maybe little more I noticed that he was not eating much. He would still eat but not as many crickets as before. He started to shed, so I thought may be that is why he was not eating...

    MistKing

Another MistKing question I finally got one and it is awesome. I have two questions. 1. How many times per day and how long I should mist my Jackson cham? 2. I got the ultimate version of mistking and it came with the timer. I configured the Date and Time, programmed ON/OFF times and set...

do chams eat less when shedding?

I have Jackson cham and he is shedding right now for the first time in almost two month and I have not seen him eat. The same amount of crickets I place in the morning, I take out at night. I am hopping that he is not eating because he is shedding. I did see him drink though.

    Keeping Chameleon outside.

Does he needs to get the direct sunlight or even if he is not in the direct sunlight he will get enough UVB? Because I have the perfect spot for him. The area is in the open, but it does not get any sunlight. The area I am talking is indicated by the red arrow in the attached image. You can...

    Keeping Chameleon outside.

The watering will not be an issue. I will set the Mistking to mist every hour for 5 min. I can also set the cage under the roof of the patio or in the mostly shaded area. I can leave the UVB light just kn case there is not enough sun.

    Keeping Chameleon outside.

My backyard is locked all the time, so I am not worried about it being stolen. Do you keep the UVB light? "You will want the cage to catch morning sun." I get the sun in my backyard from about 10am. Is that good enough?

    Keeping Chameleon outside.

Is it safe to keep the chameleon outside during the warm months. I live in Los Angeles and starting around March and through October/November it is pretty warm. I would like to keep my 18x18x36 cage outside. This way the cham can get sunlight, fresh air and I could set the kingmist to mist every...

My Jackson won't eat horn warms.

So about 3 weeks ago a bought 25 medium to small horn worms. The first time I placed the worm in the cage, the cham did not know what it is and what to do with it. But, after about couple of minutes he gobbled it down. I placed one more and he ate that one too. For the next couple of days I was...

    Handling the chameleon.

I have had the chameleon for a month now and I try not to handle him. When I open the cage to feed him or clean the cage, I try not to spook him and when he feels spooked, he will climb down the plant away from me. I read that there are a lot of chameleon owners handle their chams at least once...
