I know I feel bad sometimes too. Then I just remember that a chams gotta eat! I've always had a love for insects since I was a toddler and having a chameleon lets me combine both my passion for bugs and my love for herps! I don't even kill insects I find in my house... Besides house centipedes...
If you want the crickets to stay smaller once they're near the right size, keep them cool. If crickets are given a heat source they will grow and eat a lot. When my Cham was super tiny I picked up 1,000 1/4 inchers. I just kept them on the cool concrete of my basement floor and they were all fed...
Well you may want to get another gauge just to be on the safe side. I've heard these are decent but I've never used one personally, not too hard to find either:

I personally don't think a veiled would ever need...
I know it's like a time lapse that happens right before your eyes. Even my GF thinks they are cute, then again she thinks i'm cute so who knows... i'm super corny..
finds major enjoyment watching silkworms munch out of fresh leaves? This isn't my first batch of silkworms but I can seriously just waste time watching them. Definitely not as exciting as watching the chameleon eat the silkworm though... but almost. OM NOM NOM NOM:mad:
Apparently butter worms are imported into the country and before they get here they are dosed with radiation rendering them unable to reproduce and potentially become a pest! Don't ask me! hahaha
No problem glad you found it useful! I'm guessing your humidity dips so easily is because California is a heck of a lot drier than my area. A lot of members here who have trouble keeping humidity up line a few of the sides of the enclosure from top to bottom in plastic. This will help a ton...
That's one well fed chameleon! I don't think butters smell that bad but I definitely wouldn't call that strange smell pleasant, plus feeding something that has been radiated to my chameleon just doesn't sit well with me even if it is safe. Luckily my cham really could care less about them...
I'm excited to see if my cham likes them too! I've always been a bug person so I find all feeders super cool. I think Nasir prefers chitinous feeders so he best enjoy some roaches once I get them!
Congrats on your new chameleon it seems like you've done a great job so far! Keep up the good work! When you get your new enclosure and plants make sure you wash the leaves of your plants very thoroughly, soapy water works well. Replant them in organic soil and soak any dirt and fertilizer off...
Awesome pictures of your beautiful chams!
I'm sorry Louie isn't feeling himself I'm sure he'll bounce back for you :)
On a side note does Hendershot seem to have something protruding under his chest a bit? You are probably already aware or it's just the camera angle. I also really am not...
Most parents have some sort of stigma towards the word "roach" must be something leftover from their old hippy days IDK...
I remember reading that one member here only refers to them as dubia beetles lol. Most parents aren't entomologist and won't know beetle from roach when they see it...
