Yeah I haven't gotten a different light yet but i think the angling of them helped him avoid the direct uvb lighting. Alright I'll wire the light up a little bit more and that will probably help it be cooler. And yeah it did seem too hot, but he was sitting way up at the top of his cage so he...
I'm at my friends for the next couple hours but I just had my mom check on him and she said he had his eyes open and that he's moving around! :D so that's a little bit of good news, at least he's not just sitting in one place and completely not moving like he was earlier today.
Thank you for the advice! I tried dripping warm water on his eyes and gently rubbing them but that didn't do anything. When I mist him he keeps rubbing his eyes on the branches a couple times and then he just sits with them closed. I went back to the store I got him at and they said they think...
Okay, I was just at the store today and I asked them specifically about that and they said the 10uvb should be completely fine, but a lot of people on here have said that's too bright so I might just go get a 5uvb one.
Here are some pics of him and how he's acting...
Nice, I'll try to find some. I got him some mealworms just to see if those would interest him and to try and change up his diet a little.
The basking bulb and the uvb bulb are in a combo metal dome thing. He usually sits up in the left corner about 6-8 inches from the basking light and the...
Today Roger has had his eyes closed almost the whole time. I even was poking him and holding him to try and get him to open them. He's been blindly waving his hands around in order to find branches. Sometimes there won't be any even close to him yet he doesn't open his eyes to find out. I tried...
Alright, I didn't know that I'll get different vitamins for him tomorrow then.
I'll start feeding the crickets some different things too. My friend told me that phoenix worms have a good calcium ration or whatever, would you recommend that I give him some of those too?
Good idea with the...
Alright, I might get a less powerful uvb then.
I powder my crickets every time with http://www.aandersonphoto.com/Other/Roger/20925075_S8SGCt#!i=1664698328&k=DVxqjSs and I have apples/carrots/potatoes in with the crickets. They probably are too big though, I've been trying to only give him...
The one that I got seems to work pretty well and stay clean. The guy who owns the store has one of the waterfalls in almost every cage and he wanted me to have one so that my little cham could drink whenever he needed. I had originally bought a small waterfall, but it had a leak so I returned...
Hello everyone, I got a humidifier today and have turned the heat up to 75. I also got him a big waterfall and he's a lot more active today. I went and talked to the guy I bought him from and he told me that his uvb light was only 13w and that it should be fine for him all the time.
Here...
Okay, thank you! I think his crickets are more around 1/4-1/2 inch in size, but he is still able to get them down. I'll ask them first thing on monday morning. I had my mom put him in the bathroom after running the shower so that he was in a more humid environment in hopes he would absorb some...
I'm not sure because I'm out of town for the weekend, but I asked my mom to check on him and I'll let you know when she replies. Yeah I thought it was weird that he was keeping his eyes shut all the time, would it have been because his UVB light is too bright for him? The crickets had some...
Alright, I'll move it to one side then. I have a dual light thing so the two lights are connected in the same metal housing so I cant really have them spread out but I'll try putting them to one side.
He was probably super tired from his travels, I still didn't think it was normal for him to...
Alright thanks I'll try that. I have the two lights centered on the top of his cage, would it also help to move them more to one side or into the corner?
Haha okay, I just wasn't sure how sensitive they are to the cold. I turned the heater down to 60-65 at night and now he's been more active...
Haha I know! He has some really great spots already and he's still just a youngster.
Alright, I'll try that. That makes sense because the lights I got are big enough for him to grow into so a combination of that and the space heater is probably just too much. I just wanted to keep the room...
Alright, I'll update this on Sunday night when I'm able to take temperatures and check the exact type of lights I have for him.
He usually prefers to stay about 2/3s the way up the cage in partial shade and sleep.
He also might be older than a month, I'm not really sure and the guy at the...
