For now this looks good. To answer your question, yes, the cage will need to be taller as he gets older, with four feet tall being the standard. And you are right, the higher the cage is, the more secure they appear. A four foot tall enclosure on a 2-3 foot stand is plenty tall for a low traffic...
Thanks for all the imput. The system I use is a Logitech. I can access through the net, but it's a secure site. I'll look into the sites you mentioned and get back with an update as soon as I get over the flu. I'll never look at bacon the same way again!
I replied to your health clinic thread. Sorry to hear your striking out with vets. That is, unfortunately, par for the course with exotics. Best of luck to you.

Here is a link for reptile vets state wide. As for the eye, warm showers everyday for 20-30 minutes. You can also do warm compresses to his affected eye by soaking some cotton balls in warm, not HOT, saline solution, and holding them to the affected eye three times a day for 5 minutes at a time...
Back down on the calcium with D3. IMO, twice a month is more than enough. How is his overall appearance? Are his eyes open and alert? Boddy round and firm? If there are no obvious physical signs of dehydration or illness, I would look at alternate feeders. Roaches, pheonix worms, and silk worms...
Hey everyone,
Just a quick question.. anyone know how to set up a security camera for live feeds for multiple viewers? I have a security camera set up on Opti so I can observe his habits without bothering him, and would like to be able to post a live view for others to see, as well as share...
I have a dual florescent hood. One slot has a 5.o retisun, the other a regular aquarium light and it works great. No added heat or CFL issues, and it does brighten things up as well as his color. Nice job on the set up.
I'am skeptical. It looks to small, and the low retail price suggests it may not handle well. I live in Washington and our humidity is crap. Wet and cold makes for bad cham weather. I use a warm air humdifier I bought at WalMart for 30 dollars and within two hours my bedroom is a perfect 65%. I...
Welcome to the forums. Are you a fellow Kansan? I understand your concern for the night time temerperature drop. It gets nasty on the prairie. The great thing about veileds is that they handle low temps very well, and even prefer them. The cooler temps allow them to sleep deeper. The change in...
Do you have a friend or family member you could ask to check in on him/her? Going that long without misting will not be super detrimental, but will cause a major drop in the humidity. One thing you could do is purchase a humidifier and set it on a timer. It will keep the humidity up, provide...
His coloration sounds pretty normal. I would be more concerned if he was becoming dark brown, almost black, for extended periods of time. This would indicate a more serious condition, like health problems and stress. I would love to see a pic of him. Sounds like a pretty little guy.
I believe it's all dependant on the animal. Get to know his/her habits and personality. Some love a good shower, mine runs and hides until I leave the room. Just like people, each chameleon is different. That is not to say that at times it may be necessary to spray him/her, ie: to aid in...
For having such small, primitive brains, reptiles have a vast array of emotions and personalilty. I've hade chams that loved social interaction, a savannah monitor that thought it was a dog, and a female veiled that would chase you out of the room!!! I do agree with Jonas, the least amount of...
I have to prime the tubing each time I refill my zoomed little dripper. Just run at full for two seconds filling the tubing with water then adjust for your desired drp rate. You can also pinch the tubing to force air bubbles out. Hope this helps- Jason
