When my chameleon is mad she puffs up and keeps her side to me, she opens her mouth and sometimes hisses. she also becomes a lot darker in colour.

I commented on that cause someone stated that allowing young kids is dangerous cause they are most likely to get samonella. I was just stating why kids may get it easier then adults.

It is hit and miss. I have had so very nice chameleons and I have had one who would hiss and lunge at the cage if i walked by. the veiled i have now hisses and lunges at me but after i hold her for a bit she calms down. i think its all about their personality.

Samonella is a bacteria in the intestines. People get samonlla by ingesting something that has come in contact with feces. So basically if you keep you chameleons cage clean you are safe cause they only get salmonella on their skin if they are in a dirty cage.

I put her crickets in the cage to feed her, she saw the crickets and puffed put turned those colours and hissed at them

I know, Ive never seen those colours before and she only did it that one time. She was mad at her food.

These were Sharks angry colours when she was little.

My chameleon does that when she's hot, I turn the heat lamp off for a while and spray her cage. She usually closes her mouth shortly after I do that.

oh and i can't get a pic of her colours to show you, she hates the camera. All I have is pictures of her puffed up, dark colours and hissing at the camera.
