Have you owned corn snakes? I don't talk to pet stores, here the one hires based on how hot a girl is and the new one in town doesn't carry snakes. I have talked to a reptile show in alberta that rescues reptiles, people that have owned corn snakes and friends I have that own a zoo in ontario...
my veiled hisses at her food, at the water dripping in her cage. she gaps and leans her head on my hand when i pick her up, i think she's trying to threaten me but after realizing that as always I'm not scared of her her will climb on my hand but still puffed up with an open mouth. She doesnt go...
we were little when we had an iguana, the good thing with iguanas is they are sturdier when it comes to kids. less likely to get hurt if a kid gets to rough, they also are like dogs in the way that they become protective of their family. like someone else said, they aren't mean maybe if they...
I have heard that about iguanas to, ours never had any phyco moments.
I understand your concern about your daughter but both my boys (5 & 7 yrs old) and my step daughters who are 2 yrs old hold and feed shark all the time. They love it and are very good about it.
I am getting my son who is 5 a corn snake, I have talked to a lot of people and have been told by everyone they are great snakes to have around kids, they don't get big 5 ft approx, and they live in a small tupperwear bin for the first year, they don't need space til they older.
Can I ask why no Iguana? We had one as kids and it had a fine temperament. They are very protective of their home and family. The only time ours was mean was if a stranger (to the Iguana) came around.
I think that they can bond in a way, not the same a dogs, cats, or parrots but I believe they do bond. My girl has a really bad attitude, she never trys biting me but opens her mouth and puffs up at me when I open the cage. I put my hand in front of her and she climbs on, keeping the attitude of...
Id buy it. $40 for a chameleon even if its sick isn't that bad and you'd be saving it. Id also print off for a bunch of different sites chameleon care and leave it for them. They may just throw it out but you at least did your part. Look into reporting them for abuse or neglect.
The pet stores...
Mine loves the window to, i have a vine that goes across the top of my big window and hangs down in some places. She loves to sit there and look out the window. The only time she moves is if she sees I have the back door open then she trys making a run for it.
I have noticed with my chameleons that they rarely get stressed and she is in our living room and I run a day home. She could careless about whats going on, she just likes her plants. Reptiles don't really domesticate like a dog or cat, you can't train them or teach them like you do a dog.
Your...
Yes we disagree. I believe in leaving animals to be how they naturally are, i think its wrong to change them to what people think they should be. No chameleons do not live in groups but they still cross paths in the wild. And even solitary male species when they come across each other spar, its...
I understand your frustration. I have a female veiled who shows her receptive colours, goes to the male sits in front of him all calm and then when he moves she turns around and bites him. She has cornered him pined him down with his leg in her mouth all while still calm and showing her...
He let them both free in the back yard, he said himself he wasn't trying to make them fight. He took them out to get fresh air and exercise. He video taped them outside and they happened to see each other. I video tape mine all the time, just cause something happens while a video camera is on...
