    I have used them as well with no problems. But I do see the "want to play it safe" side of the argument as well. As long as you don't see your cham eating a lot of it, I'm sure it will be fine.

    If the screen is a concern, could just add chicken wire to the outside. You will still have the fine screen to hold in your feeders, but will have something a lot stronger to hold out the unwanted!

    I just use it sparingly, there is very little in the mixes I buy. I just figure it won;t hurt in moderation.
