i use them. i have a shop light fixture w/ 2 uv bulbs, reptilglo 5.0 and a 10.0. i know most keepers on here are nuts for reptisun bulbs but i'm sure these will do fine for what i need.
you're going to have a hard time keeping herps if you're scared of bugs. i've always loved insects since i was very young and i even wanted to become an entomologist at one time.
i would get some feeding tongs.
that's what i was thinking. i have my adult cham in a 29 gallon aquarium and am impatiently awaiting the arrival of my reptarium. poor guy is in prison.:(
eh, i think i'd rather have a naturally aggresive animal than one that is totally docile. mine puffs up when he 1st wakes up and then every now and then. i got him out and had him climbing all over me outside yesterday and he was cool.
post a pic of this beast, gregdabender.
are you being serious? i hope not. it's still a wild animal whether or not it was born in captivity or caught. you should expect it to be tempermental. mine hisses but i ignore it and pick him up/feed him/etc...
holy crap! i'd figure they would be starving. then i think about how a cham would eat in the wild and they should be fine then. i've just got to slow down on the food.
cool. handfeeding a cham is awesome.
i have yet to take my kids into trying it. they are all scared to death even of his food, let alone the chameleon himself. :rolleyes:man, they're nothing like me when i was a youngin'.
seems my veiled cham loves super mealworms and silkies almost too much. i've fed him up to 12 silkies/5-6 supers at one feeding(not both together though). is that too much? i almost have to beg him to eat crickets it seems. maybe i've spoiled him?
he's a full grown cham if that helps any.
it'll work as long as you can find a reptisun w/ the same bulb length and same t size. i bought an under-cabinet light fixture and put my own uv light in it.
