QUite easy in my opinion, so long as it isn't difficult to keep it just a bit cooler, more humid and provide more water. And you PROBABLY won't have to worry about fruits or vegetables AT ALL other than providing good cricket food. You know, for gut load. XD
Thank you for understanding properly. XD Yes I concluded that it's best just let him go without any food just for today. I suppose I just wanted other people's opinion. Tonight I will be sure to put the crickets for tomorrow in the small cricket container I have with new gut load, and put them...
That's all well and good, I'm glad it works for you. But for me, having a thousand or so crickets, I am not going to feed all of them the gut load that I made. Because not all of them are going to be fed to the chameleon, and the gut load would then just be wasted. Using the gut loading method...
As stated, it is not a gut load. The ones eating dog food are kept separately, and it is just to keep them alive. The ones that are going to be fed to my chameleon have the gut load in a separate container that was raided by ants.
We've been having a serious ant problem here. Not that there aren't great ideas and everything, but this isn't a post about how to get rid of the ants. I am asking about what to feed my jackson chameleon.
When I woke up, the small cricket container I have with the gut load for my chameleon...
My friend really wants a healthy, young male panther chameleon. So captive bred is what she's looking at. It isn't a rush or anything as there is some financial preparation and even a bit more research to be done, but nevertheless I figured it isn't too soon to help find a good place that sells...
The first time I took my chameleon outside on a plant, the little rabbit (Thumper) was running around him and me over and over. He likes attention I guess. My chameleon though showed no signs of stress when he was near though.
That makes more sense as I think initially the reason he did it several months ago was thinking that there was water there. And for whatever reason he just likes to bite it now. While I have not noticed any damage to his teeth (or any other part of him for that matter) I will probably just...
So I've read of some chameleons biting branches, but what about biting metal? There is a metal hook on the pothos plant in his enclosure. The first time I saw him biting on it it seemed like was liking on it, like he does with the leaves to drink drops of water on them. But then I noticed even...
This'll be my last question because I was curious with this to begin with this thread, but what area do you live in? As in time zone. It's 3:24 AM here :p
Oh well he definitely looks fine to me. Just keep an eye out for that fecal matter, and give him lots of natural sunlight. The ultra violet rays will help him digest his food. ;)
He's handsome, what is his name?
Okay, meal worms usually should only be a treat. From what I've looked into, the vast majority of a chameleon's diet, for the vast majority of chameleons, meal worms aren't the best feeder choice. In fact they are kind of bad. If you've been feeding him more meal worms than locusts, crickets or...
I just bring, Tricky out on my hand. Usually he sits on my hand, shoulder or head and basks while I am using my phone or reading something. I feel better that way, I don't feel as comfortable leaving him on a plant on his own outside, even if I am watching a few feet away most of the time...
So I just had a thought. I have a blue daylight basking bulb from petsmart. On June 7th, it randomly burned out after two months of use. Bought a new one from petsmart that same day. two months later, it burned out. This is the third daylight blue bulb I have in just four months. But this made...
