I would recommend getting your humidity gauge from home depot or lowes. They have Outdoor gauges that hold up really well, they're around 10 bucks and monitor your humidty and temp, as well as the highs and lows for that day.
*edit: I also use probes that I got from petco (around $10) and I...
95% of the people on this forum will tell you that no substrate, or flooring is the way to go. Chameleons require large volumes of water, either for drinking or to raise the humidity in thier enviroment. Because of the amount of water you use to saturate the cage, any type of substrate you use...
A "wandering jew" plant would be great for color. It has purple leaves with silver stripes on them. It also grows like a weed, similar to a pothos and does well in low light conditions.
The bulb you are refering to gives off little to no heat. You will need a seperate light for basking depending on your chameleon. Most likely a 40-75watt bulb based on species and age.
He's really coming around. Only just a couple months ago he would lunge if you came near the cage, now he runs to the door when I come by. Consistent positive experiences have built trust, especially since it's warm and i've started taking him outside.

Go to the search tab, change the function to "titles only" and type in: "drainage". There are multiple threads on this exact product and ways to modify it.
My new Ambanja came this morning from the Kammer's. Had to Come from work to pick him up and only had time to get some pics on my phone, I'll have some better ones tonight. He's already awesome.
No, veileds are more prone to eating plants. What I do for my guy is hand feed him fruits and veggie slices, like what I gutload my feeders and he gets his vegan fill. This allows me to provide him healthy foods and he's less likely to eat his plants
Get a hanging plant like a Pothos and you can get alot more foliage cover near the top. Also the vine are very sturdy and can easily wrap around artificial vines to make good walkways.
He looks great, nice pick. Just an observation though, aside from the cage size I would recommend putting some river rocks ( any type of stone to big for your chameleon to ingest will work) over top of the soil in your live plants so he can't accidently ingest soil that could cause impaction.
I would take out the fake plant that is losing dye, just my opinion but I wouldn't want my chameleon to drink any of it.. better safe than sorry you know. Nor would I use the one with paint on it. Fake plants are lame anyway, get yourself some real ones they boost humidity exponetially anyway...
