Thanks for that idea dank melon that sounds good. The reason I use top soil is it does not have anything harmful my chameleon can eat in it, pretty much what brad said.
I get my crix from flukers. I have order pretty much all sizes from them for about 1 year now. I really like getting crickets from them they usually give you much more than you ordered. For example if you order 50 they will give you 75. The only thing I would not recommend is getting pinheads (1...
The plant is mildly toxic. Your veiled (which do tend to eat plants a lot) should be fine if he eats it occasionally, if he eats a lot you should take it out. Schefflera is the way to go in my opinion, with all chams. I have had two panthers that get eye problems anytime they are on a ficus...
I have always just used topsoil for the plants that will be in my chameleon cages. Is there another method though? I sort of tired scrubbing the dirt stains on the cage floor after just 1 day. It also worries me if a feeder goes and drinks some of the water, before it drains out of the cage, and...
Thats too many in that small of a tank. Humidity will build up really fast and thats when die offs start to happen. I would split them up to about 500 or so in a tank, then keep it really clean with plenty of egg cartons, you should be fine then. Your pics make it looks like all the crickets are...
Shefflera is the way to go. It grows very nicely, has many perches and branches for the chams. They can eat it with no problems. I use it in all my cages.
Cool, thanks for the help. Anyone know the turn around on chams? I never have had one that has gotten sick before. We caught the parasites and URI at a early-middle stage.
Recently Dave and I found Coccidia in one of my chams, so to get the meds for him and just for a checkup in general I took my cham to the vet. He gave me Albon for the coccidia, and then perscribed me baytril since the coccidia can sometimes lead to infections. I also told the vet I thought he...
Friends how is the way to go. Just give him a list of what he needs to do everyday... Turn dripper on, feed crickets, clean up poop, etc. If your friend does those basic things everything will be ok.
I would raise the basking temp to about 90-95f, this could help, but your temps seem ok. Just don't let the temp get below 85f. Also remember that if this is a new home for them it will take them time to adjust. Usually when I transfer mine into their larger cage they take a week or so to...
Nosy Faly? Why do you think they are there? I am not trying to question your judgement just curious to how you would know that. It makes you wonder how many different color morphs there are that are undiscovered. Guess we will just have to wait for the breeders to hatch some babies.
