I don't use isopods/woodlice as part of my chams main diet, but since I have a bioactive enclosure I have seen my chams snacks on one or two from time to time.
The main diet for my chams are dubia roaches mostly and sometimes I give them crickets, superworms or BSFL (if I can get my hands on...
I know that some females like to lay next to root structures so maybe have some plants in your laying bin might help. And I'm with ya on the plants, I would buy them and think that I have room and turns out I dont haha. I just finished this 2 days ago, but i usually use these fact vines, they...
What I usually do when it comes to bioactive, I drill a small whole in the pvc pipe and silocone it down to the bottom in case I need to siphon water out.
But from what I learn from Chameleon academy you want give time for the water to evaporate between each misting cycle. Using a fogger at...
That is quite odd. Fish diseases can be extremely tricky, but in my experience, once they are struggling to swim and keeping themselves balanced. The survival/recovery rate is extremely low. I would say to just try to keep his tank as clean as possible.
I would say avoid handling him for now and give him some times to adjust to his new home. But yes a pic would be very helpful so these guys can do a quick husbandry review, just to make sure your husbandry is on FLEEK! and as for food, with new chameleon I usually leave some dubias or crickets...
You can try API general cure or erythromycin, I've never used erythromycin b4 but the general cure I used it when my betta had gill flukes, those parasite is real rough!
MELA+PIMAFIX you can find them at your local petstores, I believe petco do sell them, not sure about petsmart. And for the API betta fix, I've never used it before so I dont really have a saying that. I usually have most success with the combination of MELA +PIMAFIX. I would get a syphon and...
His fins looks clamp and it looks like there is a little bit of fin rot on his elephants ears. To me it look like he might have some internal parasites or some sort of diseases. I also would use the combination of MELA+PIMAFIX and just follow the instruction of the treatment. I usually add in an...
I think a picture of him might help, rough fins can lead to either fin rot or maybe some sort of internal parasite since pale color and in activeness is part of the symptom, but then again it could just be that he is an old boy. Does his stomach looks sunken at all?
Personally I prefer Dubias, but my Triceros cristatus prefer crickets over any other bugs. My veiled and panther I swap them between dubias and crickets. and some times I give them hornworms or superworms as snacks
Pretty much the same goes for me, I just keep everything the same. Just work on the plants. The only time I redo an enclosure would be when I learn something new and I want to implement into the enclosure.
I noticed only on my veiled and panther that their color brighten up a little more than their normal state when I bring them food. While my Triceros cristatus, I've seen it ate once since they are pretty shy chameleons. But in my experience with those 3 chameleons, I only notice they have 4...
Usually in all of my newly setup bio active vivariums, I would run into fungus gnats too. I usually just use the yellow sticky bug trap and set it outside of my enclosure (of course) if it gets very bad. Other than that I just waited about 1 or 2 week out and they usually just disappeared.
Usually I amazon my lights and enclosures, but now I'm starting to just support the LEAP brand(sadly their enclosure only support smaller species atm). Their equipments are pretty nice imo. And I totally understand where you are coming from. I was in the same boat when I first started to...
