Do it! It's fun, cheap and a great way to control what goes into your cham from the ground up. You can feed your crix lots of healthy veggies or fruits that you have and eat your self. Here is a link I found helpful.

Here is a pic of the crix reared, laid...
Well I have never seen my female drink...That is until today! I have an automated misting system and spray 3 times a day or more and the most I have ever seen was kind of a lip smacking motion when she stands in front of the mister.Stool has always been fine. I caught her this morning licking...
Maybe try dusting them lighter. It's hard to get calcium into a cricket. There are a few gutload recipes out there that focus on calcium. As your cham gets older he may not be so picky. You said that he eats mealworms without problem and undusted crickets without problem so it's good to know...
Females look plumper than males to me. Crickets that is. LOL My chams eat indiscriminately but when a male cricket gets in my females cage and starts chirping and fluttering his little wings she homes in on it avoiding all others. I think it has to do with the movement and the sound or maybe...
I already have a (diy)misting system and am just kinda interested in peoples thoughts on pumps. Be it flojet, Shurflo, Promist, Mistking or any others. I myself have a Flojet ET508. What have you got? What is your favorite or least favorite?
Awesome. I will do that. Ive seen lots of people do it different ways. I do it in three 40 gal rubbermaid totes. I cut the middle of the lid out and screened it and caulked around the edges of the screen. Then I went to the bait store and bought 2 dozen crickets. I put them in there with there...
Haha. Two male cricket were doing a dueling bango thing in each others face in her cage. She broke it up by eating one and knocking the other one down.
Thanks Carl. Im gonna go ahead and let them finish laying there eggs in there dirt tray and feed em off and let em die. Hopefully they will die off before the baby crix start hatching. Then bleach it out and throw away the egg crate. Hopefully it's just a fluke. Maybe it was just there time ...
I've been doing pretty good with my home cricket breeding operation but when I got home this morning I noticed alot of deaths in my adult breeder box. I recently ordered egg cartons online from a cricket seller. Im hoping that this didnt have the cricket virus on it or something like that. Ive...
Wow. Thanks everybody. Well I guess next time I go to a pet store ugh. I will pick up around 35 to try out and see what I can get done. Not to sway too far from topic but my adult breeder cricket box had a larger number of deaths in it around 15. Im hoping I didnt pick up the cricket virus on...
On there site under misting nozzles it doesnt say what inlet size they take or inner diameter for the tubing they need. My system uses tubing that is real soft. I dont care much for it.
Im tired of my misting nozzles not performing to my liking. Does anyone know of a no drip nozzle or some that maybe could swivel that would fit my hose?
I get tired of buying them. My cricket farming in my 6 - 40 gal totes is in full swing. Produces more than enough for my chams and fish. But there is just something about that look in my chams eyes or the rapid bites they take when turning a big juicy superworm to mush that makes me want to...
