I meant to post something like this myself. My little guy always waits until I put him on my neighbors hibiscus, I look away and BAM he's gnawing at the plant!
I've seen him eat little hibiscus plant parts (Wood not leaves) and he's seem to pass them all okay so far. I would love to see what...
At least there is a good side to the story, I hope his little arm heals up nice! Sounds like you had a lovely Vet to not make your cham squirm when making a custom cast!
Thank you guys, I got super lucky with this one. He is a STUNNER. I'm very excited to watch him grow and get colors myself :D
The only reason the cage is bare it Because it was the advice given to me, I didn't want to have crickets be able to hide all in the plants. There it actually a small...
I'm pretty sure that he's got blue bars, we went outside for the longest we have yet. I chilled with him outside for about an hour. Sitting on my neighbors hibiscus that I moved next to my chair ;) He showed AWESOME blues outside, but inside they're still just lines coming in.
His green...
You could always try a variety in diet, I don't know what all your feeding now. But if it's all just crickets maybe try worms for a bit? Change the gut-load on the crickets and try again later?
I give my little guy a variety of food so I hope to never have these, good luck :)
I'm not sure how to tell females apart really, but I have seen quite a few pictures of locales. Seems to be a red barred Ambilobe male, not 100% sure but that's my 2 cents.
Good to hear from an experienced keeper, thanks Jann. He's got nice bulgy eyes and good poo, kills crickets like a monster and loves worms.
I'll post more shots for sure soon, He's starting to show the blue in those red bars a lot! You know who he's reminding me of is a Candy baby named...
I'm pretty excited to get him a plant in time, but for now I think he's very comfortable in this set-up. He seems to enjoy it, and as nervous as he gets at first he LOVES going on the hibiscus outside.
Can anyone give me some information on how I should give this guy a shower? I don't have a...
This is Skittles first and current enclosure, I was advised that to much vegetation could affect how much he was eating. The crickets hiding and him not old enough to really hunt. In reality he's a great hunter, knows when I put the food in thats for sure. He'll take them off my hand or chase...
I was very lucky with my purchase, my little Ambilobe panther is VERY tolerating. He doesn't mind getting on my hand with a little bit of assistance, no flaring or hissing.
I would imagine you can start by hand feeding at first. I let my guy get a few out of my hands to try and warm him up to...
Yeah these are VERY smart little animals. From the other side of the room I'll look at the cage to check up and I see the little eyes roll back to look at me.
They know what you're doing, I know they're so smart just by watching their eyes. Little guys really do think things through. Like...
He's about 4 months, some of his brothers definitely got their color first, but this guy is HOT!
It's a total neon yellow when he flares up. I'm honestly just waiting for his red and blue to really come in! I'll post more pics eventually
Yeah I sent you a private message about that lol :D
I think your guy is a bit older then mine, we have to compare a few months from now see the differences!
Hey all, this is my male Ambilobe.
I purchased him from Bruce Galbraith at Chameleon Paradise (a site sponsor). His daddy was the epic Candy Cane. One beautiful cham.
He flares up a LOT brighter, his green turns yellow! The blue bars are just coming in so I can't wait to see him when he...
Hey all, I don't have the form but let me do this to help you all understand.
Panther male
4 months old
Owned him 4 weeks.
Heres my situation, took my guy outside for some natural sunlight. I have a neighbor who keeps a great size potted hibiscus (around 4ft). I left him on it watching...
I'd like to weigh in here as a "snake person". I have kept pythons and still do. I have a quite a few snakes, a few dogs, some leopard geckos, and ONE chameleon.
I'll say this, the chameleon takes a LOT more little work. I don't have a problem doing it but the extra time matters. I was...
Haha yeah I got my first little panther a few weeks ago and he just shed a few days ago. At first I was worried because the spikes on the top of his back got all white and one cracked.
"Oh no! I'm going to have to post on the forum."
Sure as hell the whole body shell cracked and I realized...
