Not saying that eating soil is okay, but in nature, animals eat soil sometimes. Given if it's all natural soil, and he/she doesn't over indulge, I don't see what could be the problem.
Sebastian eats soi sometimes, and his son does too, not telling you to allow it, but I don't see a problem...

Hate to bring up an old post but I finally found out what you mean today, I have one of those Zoomed Little Drippers, they are green. I brought one near my little Melleri today and he puffed and gaped at it! It was one of the most Bizarre things I've seen!
Ahh yea, he/she drinks like a camel, and is probably drinking as I type this. The gloves were from me cleaning the cage that came with the little guy, it was filled with dirt and wood chips.
