Interested in MegaRay stuff. I think those guys are on to something. One thing that plagues the lighting world is decay. Replacing a 25$ bulb every six months is expensive. I think a mega ray low 100Watt lasts about 18months if I recall. I think a larger cage minimum is better for chams and...
Ditto, I think this should be the standard recommended size. I can't tell you how many pics and you tube videos you see with 18x18x24 inch cages. Disappointing. Even as a 13yr I was able to easily build large screen enclosures easily and knew enough that a cham would need something like that...
There are a few types of Scheffelera (sp?). Ambrolica is the asian one, common name Dwarf Umbrella plant I think and it's the only acceptable one. I'm 95% sure that yours is an Amate or something else...and those are toxic. I'm not an expert though, someone else will clarify I'm sure.
The...
A CAD tool is what you are looking for. I know its a learning curve for sure but it will give all of the parametric designs options you could ever want and also leave you with a bill of materials and parts list as well. If you took some tutorials you could even get more advanced with it and do...
Efficiency?
How efficient do you think this method is verse a more traditional mist king system? I really like the "naturalness" of it and the sound etc. Just wondering what the down sides might be? Less humidity gained, more water throughput etc etc.
Really like it...well done.
Oh...
plexi vs acrylic
Well, I'm planning on a large cage with 3 by 7 ft walls on the side. Thinking thatacrylic might exceed my budget quickly. Where do youeven buy large sheets of it? What is so much better about acrylic? I have never had chance to work with it.
Thanks!
Hello everyone, I live in Portland OR where its rather cool at times and I want to use a glass on the sides with some screen towards the bottom. Front will be screen and back.
My Question is there a better option than plexi glass? I need to be able to see through it and still have it hold...
mega ray uvb lamps
The mega ray site does mention that the flood lamp version (60 w I think) is good for sun loving chams as it provides a less direct light focus than what dragons would need but still give a quality of light thatis closer to the natural.

Separate and maybe shower them? I think people used to do that as a recovery trick. Put them on a basic plant with very mild shower water on half of it and leave one of them in there for 30minutes...maybe longer.
Thats still an average cage size for a single chameleon. I tried to do a pair of Jackson's, which are the exact opposite of wild vieled's and very communal, in one of those and it didn't work. The cage is only 3x3x5 and the animals stay at the top...hence not much living room. The female just...
