I try to keep a nice thick layer of leaf litter and provide some pieces of cork bark for the isopods to hide under. My chameleons have pretty much all figured out they are there and will often be hanging upside down patiently waiting to ambush some. The isopods have a very well established...
Several years ago, I was advised to use and sold some giant canyon isopods from our then, acting Bug Lord. (You know who you are ;) ). Many generations later and they have been little workhorses of my enclosures, keeping everything clean and happy. I’ve tried and have a breeding colony of...
Napoleon looks good and healthy to my eyes. Everything is aligned as it should be, so no signs of mbd. His casque is neither bulging nor convex, showing he’s a good weight. Eyes aren’t sunken or dull and his scales all look good. It is always a good idea to have a fecal check for parasites...
I wonder if maybe he got a mild eye injury or irritation during shipping. You’ve let the breeder know right away, which is perfect just in case. Hopefully it is something that will clear up on its own quickly.
I have the misting systems set for 2 minutes before lights go on and off and a 1 minute session around 2 pm. If anything, I am having to run a dehumidifier during the day right now. We’ve had a lot of rain almost every day over the past few weeks.
Ideally, we give our chameleons a nice cool...
Both of your boys are gorgeous! That pic of Albert’s face broadened my smile. 🤗 I love Ambanja locale - the blues! No doubts at all that both are going to be very very sweet and living amazing lives with you. 💗
I do agree that the space between them is so empty, but knowing your heart even just...
I don’t use a fogger since I am unable to get low enough night time temps. However, just for a very subtle humidity increase at night, I run a couple of 15 second mistings via Mist King.
Aww…happy hatch day to beautiful Bella! Such a hardworking little lady with those eggs. 🥰 Even though I’ve never met Bella, I just love her! A silkworm toast for the chameleons to many more hatch days for your sweet green girl. 💗🥳🤗
My veiled girl has papilloma and it hasn’t affected her life in any way. She had the initial lesion removed for biopsy but it has partially returned and recently developed a new one. I wash hands between touching my critters and am careful, (but I’m not perfect). None of my other reptiles have...
It’s not Tuesday anymore, but I may not be able to post this next week (& will probably forget about it after that).
Mango was all upset and provided a very pretty curly-whirly. 🥰
I love when they become one with a branch. 😂 One of my boys is very upset to have a new person feeding him (the pet sitter) and is now just a stick with eyes.
One option would be to offer a free class on basic reptile husbandry thru perhaps a locally owned pet store. It kills me not just when chameleons suffer from poor husbandry, but the bearded dragons and leopard geckos. I think they are probably the most popular and so are more likely to suffer...
Agreeing 100% with @Beman but also something for you to take into consideration. Those who need the guidance the most are less likely to be willing or able to pay.
