They really need to be fed hornworm chow, they will eat greens in a pinch but they can't be fed long term. Once you can see a pulsing vein, they're ready to bury themselves and pupate. I use a mix of soil and coco fiber. After about a week, I dig the pupae and put them in between damp paper...
My girl fluffs me all the time. It's a stress posture, she's very territorial. She fluffs me and holds her little hand up. My husband says that she's keeping her pimp hand strong lol
My girl ate a small hibiscus totally bare in 2 days! They seem to be less fond of the pothos, but they still snack on it pretty frequently. Offering veggies like mentioned is definitely the way to go.
I'm not sure what size would work for a chameleon, I'd think that a large cage would be better than a greenhouse. You can buy pre-fabricated greenhouses in almost any size, but I built one for my iguanas years ago using pvc pipe and window screen.
I've not been around for a while, but I had to jump in and say that you are doing an absolutely incredible job! I wish there were more chameleon parents like you in the world. I don't have anything to add as far as helping your baby, it seems like the incredible forum members have everything...
He's just being a snotty teenager! My veiled went through that phase but I still handled him and got him out for free range time, and he got over his grumpy stage.
You will definitely be with us in spirit! Maybe we can Skype and you can join us virtually.
OMG! Squeeeeeeee! I'm so excited, the anticipation is going to kill me.
Opinions needed - I need a cage for these little boogers, should I get them a new medium reptibreeze or upgrade little foot into an...
This is my first clutch and the anticipation is killing me! I just can't wait to get my hands on those tiny little spock feets! My Beanie definitely has an attitude, she's my feisty little drama queen Lol. It's funny though because as soon as she leaves her cage she's a totally different lizard...
Awwww, @Nursemaia you already sound like a loving mom! Dilly bean is definitely the Momma and little foot is the Daddy. Thor is my crestie so that would make for an interesting clutch lol! I'm incubating them kinda slowly because I have heard that makes the hatchlings stronger. They're in...
I love the idea of combining two of the medium cages! Beanie and little foot are both almost a year old so it's definitely time to get them each in a bigger house. And Thor is definitely due for an upgrade too but he's in a glass viv and they can get pretty pricey!
Well two of my scale babies are due for an upgrade in their cages so I will probably have a medium exo terra or two to spare. It probably needs rescreened, but it would be perfect for one of the babies.
