Oh because I’m sure once you make a scratch like that it’s all you see!

When I had a plexi glass fish tank it got so many scratches and got hazy. Probably not a factor at all for reptile enclosures

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

I love the look of that acrylic enclosure but I wonder how hard it is to keep that acrylic spot free or free of scratches. I’m sure RO or distilled water helps keep mineral spots to a minimum. Maybe some vinegar water on a soft cloth once in a while?

Oh wow that’s really interesting! So you open the two front doors and blow a fan in there during the day to dry it out?

    Smells and holding?

Listen to Beman and you will have a happy and healthy chameleon. We all went through what you’re going through. I know you can do it!

Very good point. If they are never down in the bottom 1/4 of the enclosure it doesn’t really matter!

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

If the Tamura is warmed up and the chimney effect is in full swing, I imagine air going up and out of the top screen and cool air being pulled in through the crosscuts doors on the middle of the sides. But what does the air in the bottom half of the enclosure do? Does it just swirl and...

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

Tamura is solid PVC and acrylic with a screen on the top. So how does the chimney effect work if there’s no air intake at the bottom? Some Tamura enclosures have “crosscut” doors in the middle of the sides. I don’t know why those screen doors aren’t further down toward the bottom of the...

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

Some hybrid Dragon Strand enclosures have screened front doors. Other hybrid DS enclosures have an acrylic main door with a screened lower door. Correct?

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

I tried to imagine how much less I would see of my chameleons with Reptibreeze vs. Tamura so I scribbled a bit on some photos. That’s a lot of PVC blocking the views unless I got a large plexi glass window on the sides too. I’m sure that could be done.

I would like to see the test done with and without PC fans. If everyone is running PC fans on their Tamura enclosures maybe the test will show that they’re not even necessary

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

It’s safe and non toxic but you don’t want any animal believing they’re in the midst of a forest fire! You could always move them to a free range during the test. Should only take a few minutes https://www.amazon.com/Regin-S220-Smoke-Adjustable-Wicks/dp/B07J2TBTGB

No, don’t use fog because it’s denser than air. It’s carrying a lot of water vapor and it will just drop. We want to know what the air is doing, not just the fog.

It would help our community so much to have a visual demonstration of airflow within hybrid enclosures

I’m going to up that to $100.00. I will give $100.00 via Apple Cash to the first person who posts a YouTube video demonstrating the ventilation within their Tamura enclosure by using a cold smoke pen. I will send $40.00 for you to buy the pen and another $60.00 when the video is posted in the...

    Tamura Designs Ventilation

Please oh please I beg you… someone with a Tamura place a (cold) smoke pen in your current setup and post a YouTube video to this thread that shows where the smoke goes. Use your heat lamps, PC fans on full blast, crosscuts doors, you name it. I will send you $40.00 via Apple Cash so you can...

    Frantically moving around cage

See if you can hold a silk worm or super worm in one hand and have him walk on the other open hand like a bridge to get the food. I use this method with my adopted panther who is a biter. He’s stepped on my hand a few times. But boy oh boy when the food is gone and he realizes he’s been...

    Frantically moving around cage

It really depends on the type of “handling”. Some people just grab their chameleons out of the cage to hold them. That’s a bad start to a chameleon-human relationship. You want to build trust with hand feeding. Then you can work on holding them while feeding. Return them to the...

    Frantically moving around cage

Moving him to your office is a great idea. That’s where my buddy is. He will be used to you being around but not focused on him. They like to people watch so long as they don’t feel noticed or like they’re the focus of the room. My chameleons never hide. They’re always down front...
