I’m lucky to have a smaller finished basement with a window AC. On cooler nights I can actually open a window and it gets down to 65ish. I can also run my dehumidifier which heats up the space. Every day is different so I’m down there several times a day adjusting things.
He was just insecure, that’s all. All we need to do is give them space and all the bugs they want. I don’t like handling my chams. When they puff up I act like ohhhh my he’s a big scary monster ohhh no I better not touch you big guy. Then they think yeah you take that you bald ape there’s...
Oh Granny the girls are no big deal at all. The lay bin is just a staple in their enclosure and once in a while they lay some infertile eggs, just like a chicken. Female chameleons are so sweet and they’re smaller so a XL enclosure is sooo much nicer for them. I’ll hold off pics for a...
I had two chameleons before my brother got sick. I figured I would get back to my happy place, which is having two. Everyone ignores females because they’re not as brightly colored but they have way better personalities IMO. Can’t wait to set up an enclosure for this sweetheart
Some chameleons are more tolerant of handling than others. But don’t mistake their tolerance for friendliness or companionship. Chameleons are solitary reptiles and don’t have a pack or herd like some mammals. Raise them accordingly. Also, as chameleons age, their personalities can change...
You need to measure the square footage of your basement and then get a dehumidifier that can handle that square footage. It’s length x width and that’s the sq ft. I also have my enclosure in a basement and it’s no problem. I mist before lights go on and after lights go off and have a ton...
Dean sent some hoppers. As expected, they were a big hit. I think Al ate 6 in just a few minutes. Big bright colors during the hunt and he threw all caution to the wind
We have lift off. Someone is letting go of their jet black facade for some greens. We don’t do spicy in this house. We do calm couch (branch) potatoes.
Al was black all day yesterday and today except for his yellow pajamas last night. He has his own quiet, finished, climate-controlled basement and a 85 degree basking temp. LOTS of emotions in this guy. He’s eating well and I see plenty of reds poking through on his belly. Whatever...
I will just stick with my trusty Fluval Plant LED fixture. It’s expensive but I love that I can turn off the red LEDs, it’s fully water proof, and it has a sunrise and sunset feature. Thanks!
@Beman I’m so sorry for the typo. These daylight bulbs are T5HO! With that said, do you think it’s worth a shot to daisy chain 3 of them at 2% UVB output each? Maybe then I could ditch the 6% UVB bulb and just have 3 T5HO daylight bulbs for a bright, natural look and they cover the UVB...
frams
Beman what do you think about daisy chaining 3 of these Arcadia T8 fixtures with the 2% UVB bulb? That would knock out UVB and the daylight fixture for plants and it would look really cool.
