I think he ate the hornworm. I can't find it in the cage. I have silkworms and grasshoppers in route.

I haven't had grasshoppers, his absolutely favorite feeders, for 2 weeks. Could he be having a tantrum for grasshoppers? I have ordered grasshoppers. They should arrive in a few days. The gaping happens when I approach the cage.

I'm sure some experienced people will chime in. I would make sure he is well hydrated. The week before departure, I would add an extra night time misting and if you use a fogger, I would add a few extra hours each night prior to departure. I would also have a fat, juicy hornworm to give him...

I think I'll pass. I think his night watch skills need more practice. He should at least try to keep 1 eye open!🤣

Some part of his body is always in a shed. His tail could be near a shed but that does not explain being upside down in the Money Tree pot with 1 claw on a branch.

I don't know his age. He was adopted from the animal shelter.

I don't know if that was the issue. He immediately went to his basking spot but now he's laying on a branch. That's unusual behavior for Carmelo.

I added more heat and he is now basking! I think he was cold.

His basking temp is 79 degrees. I'm adding an additional heat lamp to see if that helps.

He's not basking. He loves to bask! His skin is really cold to the touch. Maybe he's too cold? We have central cooling. The ambient temp is 76 degrees. I think i'll add another heat lamp. He likes to bask at 85 but I only give him upto 83 degrees.

I replaced his uvb in March. It's an Arcadia. I replace the bulb every 10 months.
