I needed to increase from a 60 watt to a 75 Watt bulb. Just got back from Home Depot and realized the bulbs I bought are energy savers....75 watt bulbs that only use 53 watts. Does that mean this bulb is even cooler temperature than my current 60 watt??
Ok. My Chams cage is near a window so getting ready for cold weather here in NJ. During winter I also set a humidifier near the cage to keep the room humid
Just curious, why does a window draft cause RI and at what temperature does it become an issue? I have a veiled and have read that in the wild, night temperatures get pretty low....so was just wondering why this happens when there is a cold draft in the room
FYI my Cham is about 8 months old now and he still won’t touch hornworms. He’s eats crickets regularly with no problem, superworms he loves I give him 2 a week. But he has no interest in hornworms. Wouldn’t touch wax worms when he was little either
I’ve bought 2 chameleons from pet shops and I think they are always wrong. They always say their chameleons are like 3 months old when they are tiny. Mine were both smaller than yours when I got them. She looks healthy don’t be worried
I have an automated misting system set on timers. But I do also place a big dripper on top of the cage everyday so there is always some drops landing on leaves below. Never actually see him drink from it but oh well lol
Best of luck! My 7 month old male will sometimes eat a worm from my hand but not always. He never climbs on to my hand when I offer, he usually gets scared and hides. Lately what I've been trying is opening the cage and letting him come out on his own, I set up a vine that runs up to my curtain...
Anybody on here have one of these? Looks a little bit like the Jackson but only 2 horns. I love the horned chameleons just looking to hear a little more about them if anybody owns one
I like your cage setup though looks nice. Just curious I see your dripper hose running into the enclosure....what dripper are you using. Could you post a pic? I just set a big dripper on top of the cage but I'd like to do something more like what you have
Id say he is definitely not 2 years old. Mine is 7 months and larger than that. Other members might be better informed but I would suggest getting a screen enclosure also for airflow. I was always told those glass terrariums are no good, also he is going to need more space pretty soon
Yes this is what I was thinking, that he was shedding only a part at a time. And correction to my earlier post his tail hasent shed yet. Here's a couple pics, they are hard to tell but if you zoom in you can see his body and tail have that faint color like he's ready to shed....
This is my large reptibreeze cage setup with a mistking on a timer. I'm ordering the large Clearside Atrium so soon he is going to have tonnnnsssss of room to roam
Awesome! I have a veiled but I love the Panthers. I might get one for my next chameleon. And they are the best when they are babies! Haha can we see pics of your cage setup??
Does this look normal? He also left a giant poop that looked very healthy. Just wondering why the urate is 2 different colors. His cage is misted with a mistking 5 times a day for 3-5 minutes each time. And I have an autodripper set up throughout the day
I do calcium without D3 every feeding. Calcium with D3 once every 2 weeks. And I do the multivitamin once a month. My humidity levels never get low, even in the winter I have a warm mist humidifier that I run in the room near the cage
