Thanks so much! Even though I have watched countless videos and podcasts from Bill Strand ..it’s still nice to have you guys have my back!!
Is there a way I can look up members and see they’re Chams on here?
Absolutely! I’m wondering now if I should do two separate lights up top as the screen top has two sections. Each side lifts off separately… the mid support is a solid frame and covers a 4” wide strip. So a 48” UVB would be interrupted mid stream by this bar. What are your thoughts on that...
Thanks so much!!! I actually got it figured out! (Proud of this 70 yr old gramma lol)
I was setting it on a 12 hr cycle instead of the 24 !
Anyways, all good!!! Thanks again for reaching out.
I’m very sorry for your loss. He obviously was a very special boy. ❤️
I do have a backup generator as I have parrots and and a tortoise and frogs etc I was just wondering how many hours basically I could leave it without too much concern.
My daughter and I went back to the reptile store to purchase the 3 mth old veiled male…but I fortunately someone beat me to him just prior to us getting there 😭. The owner showed us a 4 mth old ambilobe panther male. Price tag on him was $750. And I didn’t want to spend that amount. Long...
Okay! Thanks again so much!! I will do exactly that!!
It does have a ventilation bar that runs the 48” along the bottom front of the tank.
What dimensions should the perches be? I was going to vary them somewhat. But is there a certain size that they prefer that I could make sure to have...
Okay that I shall do! ( I’m trusting you over the reptile place I’m getting him from) 😃. So when he wants to bask he will also be under the UVB bulb as well? Or very close to it. Correct ?
No this is a tank for reptiles. Has 2 sliding front doors and a 6” bottom for water or plants etc and a...
So my tank is 48" long and I've been told that I should put a 24" UVB on the one side and then the basking bulb on the other side. Is this correct or should I be adding a longer length bulb?
thanks!
Thank you! That helps me a lot!
So my daughters bought me a 4 mth male panther yesterday as an early gift!!
I have the tank now and won’t bring him home till it’s set up and ready for him. I’m so excited!!
As the time is getting closer for me to be getting my veiled baby ... I'm somehow worried that I'll screw up...what if this happens or that happens....these are a few things I need the answer to so I can quit worry so much.
- I live up north and it can get pretty cold here in the winter...
That is gorgeous and how I want to set mine up as well! How mature is your tank? What type of branches are you using?
I have to go with a atasuki glass tank as I live in a cool and dry climate.
I fell in love with a 3 mth old the other day that literally asks to come out to be with you...
Going to take all your advice that you gave me. I ordered the big one!! Along with the Arcadia pro 5Ho and a misting and fogger!!!
The question I have is would it be okay to keep him in the tank I have now for a month or so while till the new one comes and gets set up? Even with the water...
I’m wondering if many or any people do this? I can get a nice sized 6’x6’x8’ greenhouse for under $300. It would fit perfectly in my spare room and provide a lot more space for one than the glass tanks. It would have to be tweaked a bit I’m sure…but wouldn’t this work well??
Any and all...
Thank you
Sorry, it is a reptisun HO 5 %
So I should get a Acadia pro 5.0 or 6% as a separate fixture and a separate one for my plants. Correct.
Okay
The Spanish moss?
The bottom water feature is only 3” deep and has tons of rocks and plants and branches that if he would fall in he could...
Thank you for your input! The bulb is actually a reptisun 5HO The basking branch is 9” behind the bulb it self. I’m not running a fogger as of yet. Sorry pic was deceiving as I’m just trying out my humidifier as a fogger.
I have watched most all of Bill strands videos in prep for this...
Hello everyone! I’m excited to find this forum! I’m getting my first baby soon ( veiled male). I’ve watched almost all of Bill Strands videos to learn as much as I possibly can about this species.
There is a 3 month old baby right now at a reptile store here in town and he is the most...
