C calyptratus vs. T hoehnelli vs Brookesia

My suggestion remains the same. Having a vet lined up is great, but I still would not suggest the others as a first chameleon

C calyptratus vs. T hoehnelli vs Brookesia

Will this be your first chameleon? If so, go with a veiled. I’m not suggesting this because I don’t think you can take care of the others appropriately, but the other two (hoehneli and Brookesia ssp.) will both be WC and can be quite challenging as a beginner.

    Chameleon Enthusiast!

I think @Klyde O'Scope was touching on that people who have “Chameleon Enthusiast” as a title might not necessarily be an “expert”. I quote expert because we’re constantly learning and there’s always curveballs. This is the beauty of a forum. Someone may share their experience and you learn...

    What chameleons in Madagascar eat....

Yes I’d have to agree. In reality if you have one chameleon- are you going to have a roach colony, hundreds of super worms, etc.? You’re most likely going to the pet store to pick up what you need to make it through the week for feedings and that’s it. Growing up I had 10+ reptiles at a time, I...

    What chameleons in Madagascar eat....

this is where the 6 month expert and parrots of the hobby get things wrong. They see information and just word vomit every chance they can. As addressed already in this thread (without actually saying it), the importance is giving a varied diet. Chameleons are not going to necessarily see the...

    A Rare Occurrence

In all fairness, this is the internet and since you’re reading what someone is writing, it is impossible to know their tone. This site is definitely better than Facebook groups by a mile. A lot of Facebook groups are admin worshipers and no one else can answer a question and don’t you dare...

    Chameleon Enthusiast!

I agree that there should be something higher, but I’ll never get there 😂 The old ranking system was nice, but would be difficult (maybe impossible?) with how the site is now laid out. When you gave someone rep for their post, they got more points depending on how much rep you had. You knew you...
