These little guys have been on my mind, and it would be fun to try a small breeding project. I've got a few questions about them, but first and thought I'd share this article I found. Is deparisitization necessary for Brookesia, or do breeders have success not bothering with it...
Based on iNaturalist, looks like it's a Common chameleon

I'll defer any diagnosing and cage critique to others, but can you take some pictures of your chameleon without disturbing her too much? Full body, eyes, and legs and anything that looks off.
Good luck! For me, I had a (rudimentary) baby bin for a few days and was planning on longer, but personally felt that it would just be better to throw in the full 2x2x4 size cage, and had no issues with the cage size other than spending a good chunk of my day looking for him and giving him way...
Went to the Tucson Reptile Expo this weekend, and am now much more confident in my chameleon keeping skills. Wasn't impressed at the condition of any of the chameleons I saw, and was disappointed in how rough one booth handled baby veilds. I suppose it's a good thing I saw nothing other than...
I bought 12 hornworms at a reptile expo this weekend from Josh's Frogs and the ones left are already maybe too big, and almost out of food. They've made so much poop.
I did some silkworms from eggs once, but went out of town and they all died, probably because they overheated from a window. My...
Thanks. I'm not too worried since it just showed up, but I figured I'd mention it in case somebody asked or knew anything. A bite is a possibility, just because of everything in there - crickets, isopods, and dubia.
Tanooki Mario just had his 1 year hatchday!
He is a lovely boy and will regularly climb on my arms or head if I peek in there.
No major concerns or issues. Though maybe a couple minor ones. He also tries to climb on the plastic covered door of the screen, I think that's just typical male...
On the topic, I realized the other day that there is a possibility to make a really good Chameleon Tie Dye. Specifically to make one look like a panther chameleon. I did an activity with some friends and did an attempt at making one, but it did not turn out exactly how I hoped.
If someone...
Others could explain better, but research is pointing towards nighttime fog banks as being the primary hydration method for some chameleons. Rather than drinking drops of water from rain or mist, they just breathe it in while they sleep. But this requires cooler temps than a lot of houses get at...
Happy to report that he is still doing well. No issues as far as I've noticed. Doesn't gorge himself on dubia, unlike grasshoppers, superworms, or giant moths. But there's now a birdseed bowl that constantly has roaches in it. I learned the other day he can turn a very vibrant yellow when he's...
Yeah mine likes the brighter light. I've got a bright plant light raised up a little, otherwise it's far too hot if he climbs on the ceiling. It's the 100w Sansi Light. I only run the dedicated basking one when it's cold.
