    Hamm 2009 - many images -

Ah, thanks for the comprehensive peek at the expo. Some great animals, though some were clearly mislabeled, as with the "uluguruensis" which is really a brevicaudatus. From the looks of it, the "temporalis" is on the same boat, but more difficult to tell from that angle. The tigris... wow...

    my news chameleons from HAMM

Ah, you finally got your deremensis. Except for the damaged horns, they look great-- and young, too! Did you get the two pairs? Fabián

    Has anyone seen this?

Those are not "growths" on her eye-- it is merely inflamed. This could be due to infection, a metabolic imbalance or conjunctivitis. What else did your veterinarian say? Poor nutrition isn't a good enough diagnosis. Did she/he prescribe any medicine? Was procedures did she/he perform to come to...

    Trioceros in the Rain

Hi Tylene-- good to hear from you. Thank you for the note. I'm glad to hear your male is doing well. You know I always love seeing photos of them! Their behavior is so interesting to me-- I never get tired of watching them shake their ficus so vigorously that, from a distance, it looks like...

    Trioceros in the Rain

Thank you, all. I think I found my finger. Older, female, Trioceros jacksonii xantholophus, and the mother of the youngster on the previous photo. Here she is seconds after coming outside-- her colors say it all. This one's for you, Trace; with a much narrower aperture and wider depth of...

    Trioceros in the Rain

It has been a dreamy, rainy, couple of days-- with the perfect lighting for some shots, of course. Just because... Holdback male T. deremensis turning his back. Surprise... Subadult, captive-born, female, T. jacksonii xantholophus turning very dark while drinking on my hand. I am...

Just got a Mt. Meru Jackson

Hello, Congratulations on your new acquisition. Mt. Meru Jackson's chameleons are very active animals, and you'll find that wild caught animals, or those introduced to a new enclosure, will frequently move, bask and sleep on the top screen, and although this may happen whether or not your...

    T. deremensis

Just to clarify, the large male is not from the clutch of CH animals, so give your male some time-- he will eventually grow its horns. Luis, beautiful animal. I'm excited to see how they all respond in the future. Cheers, Fabián

    T. deremensis

Luis, Thanks for posting photos so quickly-- I am glad they made it safely, minus the slight bruising from shipping, which will surely go away soon. Your established male continues to amaze me; he looks even better than before! Hopefully the females, with time, will accept his advances. More...

    What species are we ?

Hey Steven. That was me. Could you share photos of jacksonii jacksonii neonates with as prominent rostral horns as merumontanus? Cheers, Fabián
  17. merumontanus

    What species are we ?

Yes, they look much bigger than any of my clutches-- which is a good thing. The smaller the clutch, the larger the offspring, and generally, the better their chance of survival. I'll take a small clutch over a large one any day. Keep us posted on their development, Benny. Cheers, Fabián

    What species are we ?

Hehe... it's about time, Benny! How old are these now? Their prominent rostral horn as neonates tells you they are merumontanus. How many do you have? Cheers, Fabián

    J. Jacksonii babies born today!

Ah, fantastic news! I came back from out of town today expecting to find my own set of nominate jacksonii offspring, but fortunately that did not happen. I'm glad to see yours arrived well-- and 20 of them! How is the mother doing? I suppose these are the first from your recently acquired...
