Brad, I have a question, don't shoot me down for my lack of experience, BUT, I don't supplement vitamin A.... My dusting regime is as follows:
Calcium-everyday
Multi-vitamin - monthly
Calcium with D3 - monthly
I'll have to check the multi on how much Vitamin A it has, do you feel he...
Thanks guys and gals for the input!!!:)
The educated person would think he is shedding Brad, but his head has been grey for about 3 months... go figure!
Anyway, good to hear other experiences...
Cheers
Scott.
No Catherine he's not shedding right now, wish he was, it does look that way dosen't it, I too am optimistic it will just fall off and reveal his beautifully coloured head and casque. If he was shedding, it would be the world record for a herp shedding his head...lol, approx 3 months all told!
I...
Hey all,
Popeye is 6 months 'ish' old now and his grey head has not coloured up like the rest of his body!
Any advice, input, similar experiences from the pro's on his progression would be much appreciated.
Is this normal/common, or is he one of the cursed that has a great body and a bad...
Awesome pics and beautiful chams...
Was it an expensive shoot?
You must love your chams to get a professional to take some shots!:)
Good on you ...
Cheers
Scott.
LMAO....:D
Mines the same, I just wish he'd lighten up, he lives the life of luxury (except the freedom), but he is only 7 months old, maybe there's hope in the future!!
Good question SupeRad :"What i'd like to ask to those who's chams loved to be held, how old were they when you got them...
I've seen them fly before, too funny !
Pedro, keep them in a "click clack" container (don't know what you guys in the USA call them), you know the plastic storage containers with the lid that has the handles you click over the lid to lock it on.
Cut out the internal part of the lid and glue...
Honestly Steph, keeping roaches is far easier than keeping crickets!
I have read that the nutritional value of roaches is better than crickets as well, so for me it makes better sense when you have alot of herps...
I too have a partner that hates most all bugs, except silkworms so I understand...
Your boy looks exactly like mine, although popeye has more of a grey head.
I agree, can the crickets, they are a pain.....vary the diet with roaches worms etc.
BTW Steph, why do you call yourself "cowchick", you don't look anything like a cow, your quite pretty! lol
Cheers
Scott. :D
That's why I started to can the old cricket as a feeder!
I now feed, silkies, mealworms, roaches and a variety of wild caught insects (free of pesticides etc)....
Never heard of impaction from feeding snails, i do all the time to some of my other species of lizards..
FIRSTLY, you must gutload them for 48 Hrs with lettuce or similar just to clean them out, as they could have been eating something that may cause harm to your cham...just to be sure!
Cheers...
Here you go mightyzug, trying to push that invention of yours again...lol I already told you how good it was! :D
Ours are only the standard type, in saying that my roaches don't escape from it, it is only the crickets that do.
Cheers
Scott.
I have read many times that multiple 20 min sessions of water are common place or the norm..
The plants I have in the enclosure are raised, ie they are elevated so that the ficus, umbrella & hibiscus reach the upper limits of the cage, this inadvertantly lets the water drain away from...
She's a beauty! :) Very coloured for a female isn't she? (I only have 1 male, so not that experienced with chams, but from what i've seen, nice for a girl of the species!)
The first pic is the pissed of colours hey?
My males the same colouration as that when he's pissed, or stressed!
Again...
