I am all about horn worms for hydration. I’m willing to bet my veiled Tony hasnt drank any water since I got him last year. He gets a horn worm once a week and I think that and misting is enough to hydrate him. Compared to Yemen he’s doing pretty well.
Absolutely. You can make scaffolding out of branches. Stand a 40” branch up straight in each of the 4 corners and then zip tie branches between those to make scaffolding. Works great and looks great. I use birch branches because they’re hard wood with good bark. Don’t use any green...
I see what you mean but listen, just cut 24” x 48” coroplast sheets and hot glue them on the sides against the wall. It holds in humidity and keeps any speck of water from getting on drywall. And it looks great
Hey I noticed you’re in Jersey. I’m in Philly. If you need any help I’m close by and would be glad to lend a hand. And if for any reason you want to adopt one of them out, I’m here for that too.
You can get two XL Reptibreeze enclosures for $200.00 delivered to your door. Place them side by side like I did and put a coroplast (plastic cardboard) sheet in between them. Then use your glass enclosure for a single smaller species of cham when you’re ready. Emphasis added on when you...
I love the look of that acrylic enclosure but I wonder how hard it is to keep that acrylic spot free or free of scratches. I’m sure RO or distilled water helps keep mineral spots to a minimum. Maybe some vinegar water on a soft cloth once in a while?
If the Tamura is warmed up and the chimney effect is in full swing, I imagine air going up and out of the top screen and cool air being pulled in through the crosscuts doors on the middle of the sides. But what does the air in the bottom half of the enclosure do? Does it just swirl and...
Tamura is solid PVC and acrylic with a screen on the top. So how does the chimney effect work if there’s no air intake at the bottom?
Some Tamura enclosures have “crosscut” doors in the middle of the sides. I don’t know why those screen doors aren’t further down toward the bottom of the...
Some hybrid Dragon Strand enclosures have screened front doors. Other hybrid DS enclosures have an acrylic main door with a screened lower door. Correct?
I tried to imagine how much less I would see of my chameleons with Reptibreeze vs. Tamura so I scribbled a bit on some photos. That’s a lot of PVC blocking the views unless I got a large plexi glass window on the sides too. I’m sure that could be done.
I would like to see the test done with and without PC fans. If everyone is running PC fans on their Tamura enclosures maybe the test will show that they’re not even necessary
It’s safe and non toxic but you don’t want any animal believing they’re in the midst of a forest fire! You could always move them to a free range during the test. Should only take a few minutes
