    Update on Petstore find!!!!

What gets me about the petcos around here is that they have a big, tall enclosure for hermit crabs and small ones for all the reptiles. How much room do hermit crabs need anyway.

That's what I understand. I have some roaches on the way. It took some convincing for the wife but after I explained about no smell and they are quiet she was all for it. ;)

So do you use crickets? I once saw a worm crawl out of a squished crickets but that was several times the length of the cricket. :D

    Looking at Chameleons

I may have came across a little strong but I do believe most people would be better off starting with CB. It takes some experience to tell if a chameleon is healthy or not. It is true CB can be sick as well but there is a better chance they will be healthy than with WC. Plus CB are usually...

strange behavior - can anyone help?

If this is what I think your plant is I'd get it out of there. It is toxic. It causes burning in the mouth in humans so if she ate some that could cause the yawning. Also causes eye problems so that may explain the blinking. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002866.htm

    Looking at Chameleons

Yeah, and please start out with a CB animal first. I recently got two Dwarf Jacksons and both of them died within about a week. The female was loaded with parasites and the male probably had some too. I have a baby veiled now and he is doing wonderful. I kept veiled years ago but I would...

Or maybe his is taking the "be the plant" hiding method to a whole new level. Now he thinks he is one. :)

Wood & Vines... Fake or Real???

I went into the woods behind my house and found a goldmine of vines. I was thinking of buying some synthetic stuff but these look much better and when they get too nasty I can just get rid of them and get some more.

Do I have a 7 mo Midget with a URI?

Great! I know it can be expensive to go back and forth to the vet but with antibiotics you don't want to mess around. If treatment is stopped too early you can get resistant bacteria and then it is very hard to treat.

    Lost my female too. Tremetodes?

JeweledChameleon, they did move. At first I wasn't sure what they were until I saw them move. They would extend and contract. I am going to take the cage outside and clean it as soon as this rain quits. I am just going to get rid of the plants and clean the cage. The cage is aluminum and...

    Update on Petstore find!!!!

Most of the time they aren't really that concerned with animals that aren't cute and cuddley like dogs and cats. Or larger animals.

    Getting started

You want a regular light bulb in it. Heat bulbs aren't good for chameleons.

    Disinfecting plants

Unfortunately they would be dead in a few days if I put them outside. :) Our climate isn't too friendly for tropical type plants.

    My Little Guy

I think he is referring to the typing in all caps. That is usually translated as yelling. BTW, welcome and nice cham.

    Lost my female too. Tremetodes?

Probably so. I just hate it when you don't know the cause.

    Lost my female too. Tremetodes?

I wonder. Could the male have had them too but they were inside the organs so I couldn't see them when I cut him open?

    Lost my female too. Tremetodes?

Yeah, I know that now. I guess it is just like the seahorses I have. WC is always a gamble since they can have a very heavy parasite load. CB are much more healthy usually.
