My screws were on the outside and they were pretty much like a self tapping screw going in. Very smooth. I left my little guy in the cage. He is just under 6 months. I've had him since he was a month old. He should be fine. It's nice easy and quick. Probably stress him out a lot more handling him.
I'd say its all in how you want to do it. Mine is in the corner for two reasons. First it keeps the water inside the cage where I want it. Secondly mine doesn't spray the whole enclosure there is still a dry area in the enclosure. So it's basically whatever works best for your setup.

I recieved my mist king yesterday but had to work a 24 hr shift. So today before heading to bed I setup my mist king. I managed to do it without flooding the room. No problems with my install at all. Thanks for making me and my chameleons life so much easier and a better quality of life.

My reptifogger also crapped out after about a month. Took it back swapped it out with a new one. Less than a week later it also crapped out. Spend the money and get yourself a mist king setup and save yourself a lot of of time and aggravation in the long run.
