I bought a 24x48x48 from Robert at www.screencages.com He'll do custom sizes as well. He seemed like a good guy on the phone and the cage is great. Also the new forum sponsor, Protean terrariums, makes huge cages out of glass... they look pretty nice too. Cheers!
I really like ficus ali and scheffelara. They seem to do well in my cages. I make sure they have a well drained pot, a layer of hydrotron pellets or washed gravel... the hydortron is WAY lighter though, and a potting mix that is about half sand so the soil dosen't just turn to mud with all the...
CB Jacksons are pretty rare around here... Anything not panther or veiled is rare as a CB. Just a word of caution about the show, most shows say no WC allowed but dont really enforce that rule, around here anyway. So be picky and ask alot of questions while shopping. The Red Deer show looks like...
There is a good book called "Understanding Reptile Parasites" By Rodger klingenberg available in the bookstore section of this forum. All the info you ask about is covered. Cheers!
Thanks for all the replies! The plant is a ficus ali, they seem to do pretty well in my cages. The cham looks pretty good, although its horn is a little rough and it's missing two nails on its front left. I'm sure its pretty stressed from all the company it had for the last who knows how long...
So I went out on sunday to look at a meller that was for sale localy... didn't buy it. Today I went to get some hornworms and came home with a mellers! It's in kinda rough shape but was the best in the group, I think it stands a pretty good chance. It really bothers me that the "pet industry"...
No pics... no mellers. As soon as I saw the seller I was ready for disappointment! Lol... the part time "reptile expert" from one of the local "pet stores" you don't want to buy from. Poor creature was pretty far gone, no enclosure, no lights, no heat, no water. No sale. Sad really. All skin &...
So I'm about to go see about another mellers! The seller claims it's a female, I asked how he knew, he said it has no dots under it's flaps.... lame. Anyway, it looks good in the photos and the price is decent so I figure what the hell, I'll go check it out. At the least it will be interesting...
Lateral basking! We've all seen photos of flattened disk shaped chams showing a darkened side to the morning sun... In nature the sun isn't @ high noon for all that long. The way we place our lights really effects the way that our chams receive heat. Lights shining directly down from "high noon"...
