my veiled chams eyes are swollen HELP!!!

Several things could attribute to this issue. First off....do you have and how long have you been using CF UVB bulbs (the spiral kind). Second....do you have loose substrate? Do you have natural sticks/branches? Is it possible that the powder from suppliments could have gotten in its eyes...

    screen tent as outside cage

This might take some time, but have you thought about sewing fabric on the bottom? This would protect it from insects that may find your chameleon to be a nice host, and possibly infect it, and it would also prove insurance to ensure there are not any future excapes.

    feaces

Out of curiosity, when chams are in the wild...nobody is there to regulate how much it eats right? So why do we do this in captivity? I mean, of course we're not going to be providing 100 crickets a day or anything...but doesnt the cham know when it is full? I put about 5 crickets and 1 or 2...

Newbie here, a few questions :)

If you leave, and will be gone for a while, have someone that you trust and that is responsible take care of it while your gone. You might even need to write out a list of "What to do" like you would for a babysitter...as in a way, your chameleon is your child. It depends on YOU for health and...

Sorry, I dont have pictures of the enclosure yet, but I will post soon. I added a few plants today and wanted to know what everyone thought. There is one particular plant that I THINK is a croton....but it doesnt have the broad leaves...they are long and thin...but the coloration is the same...

    Humidity

Humidity should be in the 50's and spike to 70s or so when ur mist. What is the temperature? That could effect it. You could add live plants to keep humidity levels up. The more bark (wood) and fake plants you have, can suck the humidity right out of the air.

    Superworm pupae care?

Just let them be....it takes a couple weeks for them to transform to beetle form. If they are twitching, then its fine...if they're not dead...they're transforming. For more information, I found this website really helpful. http://www.howtobreedsuperworms.com/

    Thermo/Hydrp Stats

I would tone down the humidity a bit, too much can give your cham breathing problems. Try to mist a lil less frequently...or bump up the wattage in your basking light just a notch. That should raise the temp just a bit to around 80ish, and lower the humidity. How many times do you mist per...

    WC Chameleons

Ya know, I thought that we are striving to keep a large supply of CB chameleons. WC chams are lowering the population in their natural environment right? My personal opinion...I dont think thats right.

    Help!

Screened cages are just about the best option available for chameleons because of the constant fresh air. Glass will cause the chameleon to see its own reflection, which will stress it out and might cause early death. If you are concered about the temperature in colder weather...I would...

    Misting, drippers and baby veileds

Usually when I mist the cage throughout the day, one of the times...Gary will open his mouth wide to let water in, so I move in with the wand of my sprayer and let it drip beside him, then he moves to the tip of the sprayer and actively drinks from that until he is done. lol, then he will hiss...
