Quick question : It won't be my last! :)

If you are new chameleons and don't have the resources to be able to keep it properly, you may want to try something else. Most senegal chameleons are wild caught, and unless you give it a FANTASTIC habitat with everything it needs, it will die in a very short time. Its great that you are...

The definitive lighting thread! Everything you really need to know

Good question. Baby chameleons in the wild bask under the same sun as adult chameleons. So using one light for babies and another for adults just isn't necessary. Understanding your specific variables will help. Are you using screen on top of your enclosure? If so, as demonstrated earlier in...

Moving to China, its been great to be here.

Thanks Laurie and fellow members. The big day is Dec.1. This forum has had many spirited debates and has been a ton of fun. Someone needs to keep bumping my threads so they don't get lost in the shuffle since I wont be around to share. Some people think Chameleons are just lizards, but they...

    Comparative Lighting Study

First, I do agree. There are hundreds of thousands of quality companies out there without certs. More quality companies without certs by a hundred to one probably. But what I asked were methods. Mike claimed he really didn't have any real metrics( and that's fine). Then I gave the example of...

    Comparative Lighting Study

You are entitled to your opinion about ISO but, Boeing, Sikorsky, Northrup Grumman, the Freedom Group, GE, Spirit, Colt Defense and my company would say, You have a very limited understanding of quality process management. There is a reason its recognized by international companies as best...

    Comparative Lighting Study

    Glass Enclosures - Good? Bad?

Why wouldn't they be large enough for an adult veiled chameleon? Can I see a picture of one of your adult Veilds in one of your large exo Terra's ? The reason I ask is I have owned several large (36"x18"x36") exo terra units. If properly set up they could easily handle a single adult panther...

    Comparative Lighting Study

Couple more questions. How are you verifying the D3 content and ratio thats going to be used? Are you weighing the amount of D3 in conjunction with the weight of the individuals included in the Study? If so what unit of measure will you be using? Grams? milligrams? IU? Do you have a solar...

    Comparative Lighting Study

Honestly this sounds more like personal observation than a study. Not trying to be a jerk, but almost nothing in your request for free lights has even defined the aim of the study. No parameters have been defined. Studies, at least in engineering and science, have set start and end times...

Reasons why real chams need real plants!

That's true but the humidity has to be near 100% to be even remotely effective. And that can be very difficult to achieve in a screen enclosure with a basking bulb, so watering is usually required.
