Having chameleons and other insectivores has definitely changed my perspective about many bugs. My sister finally learned that I have a colony of feeder roaches and looks at me like I’m crazy when I compare the wild roaches as being disgusting and not at all like MY roaches. The looks she gives...
If you can get some tiny enough hornworms, sure. The problem is that they grow unbelievably fast…literally overnight can go from just right to way too big. I just had some hawk moths emerge from their cocoons and gave me some eggs last week and they’ve gone from itty bitty eyelash bebes to...
If she hasn’t minded the lay bin, then I won’t mind it. It still wouldn’t hurt any to give her some cover for privacy though. I have to suggest a vet visit too. If heaven forbid she is having a problem laying her eggs, it would be best to address it before she becomes weakened.
So, you don’t want to use the Repashy Calcium Plus at all…it’s too high in some vitamins for chameleons (I can’t recall which specifically). Repashy Calcium Plus Lo D is much better BUT you only use the combination multivitamin/D3 for 2 feedings per month. Your little guy has been getting...
We’re all a little weird in our own beautiful way. I’m so glad that you kept Rango and have been making the needed changes for him, rather than giving him up. You’re carrying on your Mom’s legacy of rescuing animals and I know that she is so very proud of you. 💗
Poor little lady. 😞 That looks like a sizable cyst that she had. Glad that it was found and that and her eggs are all out now. Sweet Mia just needs to have an uneventful recovery and return home to you.
I have to ask about her eye…looks like she may have something starting at the inner corner...
Here’s my blog on laying. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/veiled-chameleon-laying-101.2488/ The information is applicable for panther girls too. Her lay bin looks a bit too small…they do like space to choose just the right spot in the bin. I feel that at least a 12x12” is minimum size for...
I just gave you a reply in your other post. :)
Regarding the middle one, it is indeed a jade plant, which goes by so many other names which include money plant. It is not to be confused with fused with a money tree though. You have a type of crassula, while money tree is a pachira.
The first is a succulent…a jade plant maybe? While it is safe, it won’t last long…succulents need it much dryer. The last is indeed a spider plant. Some have white, some don’t. The purple is a type of tradescantia. Tradescantia zebrina is definitely safe and this one should be safe as well. I...
That’s quite a belly she’s got. Hopefully she won’t have a huge clutch. It is nerve-wracking and we can’t help but be anxious for our girls. Generally though, as long as she has proper husbandry, she should do fine. Give her privacy. You’ll know she’s all done when she’s returned to her basking...
Hi. It really doesn’t take too terribly long to set up. Make certain you have enough of everything needed and a plan. You can put your chameleon in a small box while doing the set up…he will go to sleep in the dark. When I had a more intensive set up to do, I actually did it at night so my guy...
The 10.0 uvb is too strong, but I’m not going to get into that right now as I don’t see that as the cause of your current problem. Has your chameleon ever been tested for parasites? I agree with @kinyonga that a vet visit is needed and sooner rather than later. Here are the questions to review...
