I buy my cricket and worm gutload from cricketfood.com, and it has probiotics in it. They also have a "salad topper" that I used to use when I had iguanas. I have to say, all my herps have thrived and been amazingly healthy and long-lived on their products, but I have no idea if it is the...
Okay, think I have browsed through all the info, and I am thinking with my cage size and space that the laundry sink method may be the best for me. Ace Hardware has the right size tub for around $25, just wondering if anybody has recommendations as to the best sealant (metal and screen cage...
Make sure you have a way to drain the water and replace it easily, and filter it well while it is in there. The little guys are toxic, and it builds up in their water along with the usual froggy bacteria. I kept a pair of them for a number of years, I think it was a 20 gallon glass aquarium...
I'm seeing that I will need to put a drainage system in Joyce's cage, as even with the cham safe absorbant eco-bedding in the bottom and the big schefflera tree to absorb water from the drip system and hand misting, her cage bottom does not dry out overnight. She should only be in the converted...
Please do! I just looked at them at PetSmart on Saturday, and they wanted $30! Glad I did not buy one if I can get the same thing at Lowe's for $13!!
Great to know about Lowe's plant guarantee, I have one less than a mile from my house, and I want to add a pothos to Joyce's cage along with...
Yes, REALLY crying (I can go to tears within 5 seconds, it's quite impressive if I do say so myself :D ).
Looks like the clip we saw was part of a documentary they made about Christian and his story (oh, and no worries about him saying hi to hunters, he went to live on a preserve in Kenya...
Call your local ASPCA or animal control and describe exactly what you saw. Tell them the cham is sick and needs rescuing, they may seize and rehabilitate it.
That was completely where I expected it to go, I was even bracing myself for the gore. Then he hugs them and I sit there crying and getting all sappy-happy. It's cool when things turn out waaaayyyyy better than you expect. :D
Joyce is my fist and only cham at the moment
I also have 3 red eye tree frogs (sorry, best picture I have on hand) named Fyog, Bjorn and Greenie
The cats are Bailey…….
Gideon……..
and Newman
And the birds are Fancy the ruby macaw…….
Lucy the noble...
Yeeeeehaw!!!
Two superworms and a cricket, down the hatch! Guess my girl a) likes it warm in her house, and b) likes variety in her diet. Whatever Her Highness commands, I shall do!
What a relief!!! Thanks so much everybody for all your help!
So glad to hear she looks healthy to everyone!! You know, I think I may just not have had her cage warm enough overall, as she is so much more active now that I added the extra lights. I also added the sand-filled nestbox for her, just in case.
I picked up some superworms for her while I...
She doesn’t look lumpy to me, but I’ve had such a short time, it’s hard to say. Here are some pics. I had to take her out of her cage to get them, so she is PISSED in the first two (but you can see inside her mouth, in case that’s helpful), and then I put her on one of my plants and she calmed...
The little flukers gauge says the temp is around 92 in the basking spot, but I'm going to pick up a better gauge today to see if I can get more accurate temp readings around the cage. Eyes are open and she looks fine. Not restless though, she has been low activity the past couple of days, just...
