Depending on the place you buy it from and the size. I got a small one for $18.

The parts that you cut off may take a while to grow back since hibiscus have semi woody branches, but you may notice some light green leaves sticking out on shorter branches, these will grow into branches.

I don't know about sun showers but cutting the plant to make it smaller doesn't kill the hibiscus. I have done it.

That's true, I think it's best to buy a morph from a breeder that is keeping track of what they were morphed with.
