    cham shower questions

I've found that chams don't like to be showered at first. Many will grow to like the idea, but some never will. If it stresses your cham more that it benefits him, I'd suggest giving up the idea of showering, and do a really good job with your misting.

    Silly question..

Are you sure they are male & female. Do both of them have tarsal spurs? or just one? I ask only b/c Agent 99 seems to be getting the patterning of a male....

    uvb light

Chams can go a few days without UVB, just not for very long. One week will not hurt your cham. Tho buying one to use while you wait for the other one is fine too.

    chameleon has darkened

I've recently had the same problem with my panther... he's pretty dark most of the time. I thougt it was a heat issue, so I put in a stronger basking lamp. He still remains dark most of the time. He was moved to a bigger (2x2x4) cage in October, and hasn't lightened up since his move. Would...

My cham holds food in his mouth like a chipmunk?

I read through this thread, and am a bit confused as to why you put him back in his cage if it seems to stress him. Is there a reason you cannot set up his lighting to allow him to free-roam? I understand that you are having trouble feeding & keeping him hydrated, but being in a cage doesn't...

I use the RepCal Ca+ with D3, and their Herpavite... is 5x/wk too much? A reputable breeder had told me that the 5x/wk was ok for the young ones. here's Kermit: and his home:

    rescued veiled shedding question

My young (about 3-4month old) male veiled is taking longer to shed than my past experience (and my gut) is saying would be normal. I'm happy he is in the process of shedding, but am worried that it has taken him about 5 days, and he still has not shed most of the way. I know older chams can...

    help with 1 month ambanja

ok, with the little guy being so young, it's ok to have him in the tank FOR NOW, esp. if you are in a drier climate. Make sure the humidity stays around 50%, as little ones can dehydrate fast in a dry environment. Spray him at least 2-3x's a day for a few minutes each time, but be sure to...

    Is purple bar ambanja rare?

a while ago, blue beast had a WC purple bar cham for sale... and he had it at an average panther price. I was looking at him for a while, but was reluctant to try a WC cham, being relativley new to chams (all of like 3 years experience in all)...

    Need a New Technique

I do both cup feeding (a deli cup tied to a branch or a tupperware at the bottom of the cage), and free-ranging the food in the cage. I'd have to say that my panther much prefers the hunt (he's faster at eating all his crix & worms & such). With my little ones, I'm only doing cup/tupperware...
