water? i think some people use a vinegar water mixture. also no substrate is recommended. you can use a sort of critter carpet.. or large stones.. but if a cricket or something gets under it... ya know.
That is what I should've done but I wasn't sure if the fly was alive and I just wanted the shot:p I got 2 and he flew away.
I did change the colors. I sort of split toned it to cool the blacks a bit and then I used a sort of mustard color layer to make it all look dingy
I was messing with my camera outside today...taking macro shots... I saw this fly on a key and I got a couple shots of it. I just really like it.
If I could do it again I would try and get a larger depth of field (more of the fly in focus) but either way...I like it.
is it from water hitting the bottom and splashing out, or from a mister misting out the sides or what? just cover the sides and front bottom panel with something and you should be good.
so i think i've looked through like 200 pages of threads now and i cant find it... essentially most of the ones ive seen are just rooms with tables that go around them with screen cages.. some sort of misting system /drainage nothing really out of the ordinary. some people throw and extra table...
what kind of camera do you have? even a lot of cell phones have macro settings now. i think every digital camera (aside from the very first one) i've had has had a macro mode.
i thought okiroo was a gal (no offense if i am wrong!) hah.
to be honest, i would just be happy with any theme be it macro shots, fall, tail..whatever.. not that its meant to be purely competitive but it would be sort of nice to have an idea what everyone else is doing so you know more or...

I guess my initial spark started when I was around maybe 7ish? Which is when I first realized it was...
