After around a year, I think I am ready to get another.

Has chameleon information changed very much since the last year? Does anyone have any opinions that have really changed over time since a year? I'm looking to get another chameleon and already have experience with 3, and have my enclosure all ready for plants and things. I am thinking of buying...

I would like to share something about Monty

Thank you to all who viewed and replied to this. I am thankful for your thoughts. Hopefully I will be able to get back into the forums a little more sometime when I plan on getting another chameleon, but that is a little bit out there in the future since I do not know how my college situation...

I would like to share something about Monty

I have been inactive here on the forums for quite a while, mainly due to my lack of chameleons in my house. But I thought it would be nice if I shared this thing I wrote in memory of my passed chameleon. http://www.reptiliansrule.tumblr.com/monty/ I am sad that I have not been able to...

    Rate my enclosure!

There have been people recommending shotglasses and water bowls in chameleon cages lately (namely on the chameleon subreddit) which is very confusing to me. Yes, they do drink from water bowls and such if you "train" them to, but it does not seem like natural behavior. Plus, they'd rather poop...

    Good to big for cage?

It's not a good thing or a bad thing, necessarily. It's up to you if you think it's annoying that the hood hangs over the cage or if you don't care at all. Personally I always have to turn mine sideways anyway.

    worrisome Fauna BOI

[GRAPHIC] My t. wernerii has passed.

I am hoping to get the necropsy done today or tomorrow. I originally wanted to get it done yesterday but due to some obstacles I have had to wait.

[GRAPHIC] My t. wernerii has passed.

I am sorry to inform you all of this. Around midday yesterday he passed. He showed zero signs of illness until right before his death, and my father called me while I was at school to inform me. I rushed home afterwards but it was already too late to do anything. I am ordering a necropsy...

    Substrate too soak up water?

I would try and buy a cheap metal rack and place the cage on top of it, and buy a bucket to put underneath. Then make some sort of drainage system to get the water into the bucket. Way easier than changing out a towel and it's much cleaner.

    Moving cage

Make sure to keep the door closed in the room you move him to so that he does not get any paint fumes in there to breathe. :)

How Many Ribs are too Many?

I would try to feed her some more fatty foods for a while, maybe give her some superworms (a couple a week) to see if she fattens up. If you can see her ribs, she is probably a bit too skinny. More importantly, if you can see the bones in her tail, she is definitely too skinny. Just be...

    temp for keeping roaches

Sixty is a bit low. I wouldn't go any lower than 65, 70 is pretty good if you don't want them to breed. If you want babies, around 85.
