    Any suggested tips?

2-3 feeders every other day is the most commonly recommended feeder schedule for your chameleons age and gender but someone with more experience with your type of chameleon will hopefully reply soon. Please fill out the questions on the form so they can assess your situation. By the looks of her...

60 crickets? 😳 Did I read this correctly?

    That’s wonderful. 😍

My rainbow Jackon's chameleon loves cucumber

He’s adorable 😍 Have you seen him eat this? Could it be the evasive crickets? And they shed more when they are growing and as you said he hasn’t grown much. I would check to make sure your UV is on point, your chameleon doesn’t have a large parasite load or eating problems or tongue/vision...

Using a planter box for substrate in a screen cage

I have a butterfly cage on top of a planter box that I drilled a hole in the side to allow for drainage for my outdoor cage and I have a fabric planter in my indoor cage but that has only been setup a few months, I like it so far but time will tell. I’ll attach a couple pics. You may like some...

    Ivy's first shed

What is your supplement schedule? I was just reading thru your previous thread and was wondering if you were able to upgrade your UV? And have you added more plants to your enclosure since then? I saw some additional plants but not much more privacy. I do wonder if it could be something internal...

    Ivy's first shed

Shedding can be stressful so make sure your chameleon has privacy (and your cage is elevated) and make sure she is hydrated. Chameleons are dry shedders so it’s unnecessary to keep the shed moisturized. Having appropriate UV is important as well, what is your lighting setup? (Bulb...

    New Member!!

The major things to keep in mind for them is the nighttime temperature drop and lower supplementation schedules (and surprise live birth for females). Upper 50s to low 60s is recommended for the night temps and the supplement schedule will depend on the brands you choose (you can let us know if...

    Screen Climbing

Do you have a lay bin set up for her? If not you need that ASAP. Could we get a pic of the whole enclosure and lighting? And a pic of your chameleon would be great.

    Screen Climbing

Is it possible there may be a cricket or any other critter in the enclosure to bother her? I noticed you haven’t filled out a husbandry form and the screen climbing has been a concern for you from your February post. There may be something we can help you fix but we need to know what we’re...

    🧐 Sorry, but...

Oh ok, I did not read the references listed at the bottom. 👍 Although, like myself, I’m not sure if most readers will read all the references and click on each reference to verify in which specific case the wikihow information is applicable. But I do hope that this gets more people into the...

    🧐 Sorry, but...

100 degrees basking temperature??? 😳 Wow! I wonder how many chameleons are going to suffer or perish because of this info? It’s also a bit incomplete, like calcium with D3 and multivitamin info and UVI. I really wish they would reference the forums so owners can get help when things go wrong. 😔

    Screen Climbing

Most chameleons will not move if it’s pitch black since they rely quite heavily on their vision. My chameleon has done that a few times when there was dim light in the room and everyone was still awake, so I adjusted her schedule from 8-8 to 9:30-9:30.

    I lost my Jackson’s trust

Some chameleons that are wild caught have gone thru some dramatic and somewhat violent capture before landing in the hands of a loving owner, and with much patience some can still form trust of humans so I wouldn’t say it’s hopeless but i wouldn’t rush her, especially if she’s gravid she will...

    New Jackson chameleon owner

Welcome to the fam! Great job looking into the best care for your little one. Definitely look into the CaskAbove.com and Chameleon Academy websites to learn from the best. You will want to add a once a month multivitamin (without d since you already have a calcium with d OR you can toss the...

    How well do they hide?

My girl is constantly changing her sleep spots. Sometimes well hidden, sometimes in the open areas, sometimes right at the front glowing like a light stick. 😴

Chameleon treated for parasites still won’t open eyes

That’s very sweet of you to take on this challenge for that little girl. I cannot say what could be wrong with her eyes and I hope someone here will have some experience with that. Yes vitamin A is important for eye health which needs to be in the multivitamin you give her (once a month). Check...

    Root pouch experience

I currently have a 24” round fabric planter in my enclosure, I also folded the sides a bit at a slight slant. So far I’m liking it but it’s still too soon for me to recommend it without proper long term experience with it. It makes me soo happy that someone with chameleon expertise is also using...

    Is my chameleons growth stunted?

Also was wondering if that poster behind the cage is causing any stress? I wouldn’t be able to say for sure but when chameleons are housed together the less dominant one will not grow as well as the dominant one and it could just be that they get less food but I would think that the constant...
