So I decided to not take the chance, I did not kill them though. I called the local pet store in my area and asked if they were willing to take them. They accepted them. I was hoping for some store credit or something but nope. Lol oh well not my problem anymore! I live in an apartment and I...
I saw some positive and negative feed back about rainbow mealworms but I decided to try them to see what I thought... they sent roaches instead of buffalo beetles and their crickets seemed to be sized all over the place but they were all alive a 3 day ship. So idk.. good and bad... I called...
@jamest0o0 If I were to keep them how do you catch them with out losing them? And I don’t think they will stay in the Cham cage I have a small crack in the door
Yeah I don’t think I am gonna use them. I have my hands full with my Dubias, silks, and crickets! What is an ethical way to dispose of these creatures?
So I purchased 200/2-week and 200/3-week old crickets from rainbow mealworms. I also ordered 50 buffalo beetles because I was curious about them. They sent me red runners instead of buffalo beetles! Are these invasive? Are they worth keeping in a bin? They are small and I can just see how they...
@The Wild One They don’t lay eggs they have live birth from what I read.. I have no real experience in this yet but I have read about it a lot. I’ve heard between 5-6 months of age they are mature
Ok @Nemesis thank you! I’ve just been worried about anything bad maybe being transmitted to little opie. I’ll probably just not feed off any Dubias until this condition is long gone.
Also I was wondering if anyone knows if these are the same species? They look different to me? That are slightly a different shape, one is shinier than the other and different colors.
So I looked through my bin and I found a couple more of the bigger females looking like they are showing signs of this starting. They are still lively at this point. But have the same white “guts” starting to protrude from the rear end. Any bug specialist out there? Known sources for good info?
Is it a good idea to not try to feed the Dubias for now? Should I be worried about disease or infection passing to my Cham? @Nemesis did you figure out what might have caused this to happen?
@jamest0o0 No I woke up this morning and it was in the open area where the food and water crystals are, upside down dead. It’s weird to me but I have zero experience with Dubias so far. It a brand new roach bin roaches supplied from two different dealers.
Opie also had a little scare when he tried to snatch one of the crickets from me. When he retracted his tongue the cricket got loose ending up on his forehead, then ran down his back. He decided he had enough to eat immediately after that.
Opie ate from my fingers today! I think he’ll only eat crickets for now. I would like to get him eating Dubias as I am having a tough time dusting the crickets without losing them. There may be one or two running around on the walls:\ also my children enjoyed laughing at me while I jumped around...
Also I had a hard time communicating with mike the owner. I put in multiple calls texts and emails, Before receiving a response. I had a delivery set up for a specific date for two weeks. He got back with me on the night before and said it was not shipped. And then later that night(9:00)...
I got this guy on weds 8/21. So I can’t say how he’ll turn out, but he’s a naval bloodline from FL Chams. Mine also shipped from PA which kinda has me wondering? I don’t see anything about PA on their site. They’re site talks about being based in FL so idk about that. But he looks good anyways.
