Yeah doing that now. Already up to 97 degrees F and still going up.
(UPDATE; it's plateaued around 101.5F)
Measure with a govee monitor so I trust it.
They don't thermoregulate? I've never heard that before!
9 month old panther for reference.
So I have my cage set up so the closest branch to the basking bulb is about 8in and about 82degrees at the highest point.
My chameleon likes to hang out on the screen, upside down, under the basking lamp and plant light depending on his mood.
There is no...
Back when @klydoscope was around I asked this same question.
I actually built a working version with (probably) the same sensor.
Material costs was like $15 with an arduino, uv sensor, and a Nokia display
I made it, didn't trust my results so I bought a solar meter and the results were the...
It's funny because the stuck shed, from across the room, looks like those stick on googley eyes so every time I walk by and look over it makes me do a double take thinking he's got giant eyeballs looking at me haha
I've had him since July 25th and he hatched Early May so he is 4months old now.
This was his first shed since I've had him and there is some stuck shed around his eyes.
Should I intervene or give it a few more days.
He shed August 13th
Oh yeah my longest misting session is only 2min 30 seconds. With the 2 nozzles in my 2x2x4 it's enough to get the water dripping for a good 30sec while it's misting and about 1min after.
I also run a dripper for about 30min 3x a week.
The ball valve is an interesting idea although I would...
OK so I've asked before and did some research with adding irrigation drip emitters to my mist king to keep my plants watered.
Well, I recently had an opportunity to redo my enclosure and I took it as chance to experiment with adding an emitter and individual drip lines.
I have 2 mist nozzles...
Yeah he's super sweet and I try to handle him, even briefly, daily (usually to get him off the ceiling safley)
I think he's close to a shed since he is starting to dull up a little bit! He's grown a lot so it's a waiting game!
Did say earlier I hate crickets?
So I bought 100 (they probably game me more like 250/300 medium crickets. Built a 5gal plastic tote container with a giant vent up top and vent on the side for some cross ventilation.
Added my bug burger and 5 days later have probably lost half of them.
I'm...
Chameleon Info:
• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Hatched May 7th and I got him on Tuesday July 25th
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
I've been trying to let him settle in but I've "saved" him from the top...
He's settling in and eating A TRUCKLOAD of crickets and dubia... did I mention I hate crickets!? 5 -7 Dubias a day amd like 7-12 small/medium crickets.
Also now that he's more settled he's been showing his colors more.
My enclosure is in the main living space, not a dedicated room, so is there a decent way to cool just the enclosure? It's a hybrid enclosure so it should make it easier.
I've seen the info graphic from chameleon academy and ready/listen to the podcast about it but I've not adopted it...
I'm still doing a mist before lights on, a few minute mist late morning, and then a mist about am hour before lights off.
I saw @Gingero video the other day and she lists...
Thought I would post here too... @Camiezone made the whole transaction super easy! Zhe sent lots of care sheets and you can tell she cares for the chameleons.
If you're an established breeder or just starting out I'd never know the difference! Thanks again!
Thanks again!
I'm going to watch this as I want to start keeping a weeks worth of crickets in hand but I HATE crickets for so many reasons.
Dubias are my preferred bug since they are darn near immortal and have zero odor.
So I hope you get some answers because I too need to know...
Got my new little man today! Here's hoping he lives a long and healthy life!
Looking forward to him getting some color as I already see some popping through!
Hatched may 7th so it's just under 3 months!
Thanks to @Camiezone for sending him my way and @MissSkittles for pointing out the...
