I attached the foam boards with command strips straight to the PVC panels so they can be removed.
The pot holders where made with pots that I used the expanding foam to cover. Once the foam was cured I used a knife and cut the rounded edges to try to blend it better but in hindsight or if I...
Banded crickets.
Out of the chameleons cage... I use a shooting gallery but if they get spooked they hop off the wall into the cage and then into my house and then chirp all night for 4 days until I either find them and kill it or they die
I can't keep crickets alive for more than 4 days in a (what I assume to be a perfect setup) but if they get out of the cage they seem to love their entire life cycle in my house.
You're talking about breeding them; I just want to keep them alive long enough to feed off!
OK I'll agree with you're application in thr sense that you're priority is light output (heat as well obviously) but a well designed and tuned PID loop (not saying the reptizoo one is this) IN THEORY should eventually reach near steady state. You always have some dimming and brightening but it...
The point about being at 100% vs lower is Moot with a PID thermostat.
The PID will control close to the setpoint and dim/brighten the bulb.
in reality you want to be at some value (lets say 67% of the max) for optimal control. If you're maxing your bulb then you are not truly in good control...
You can see in this picture I also have the reptizoo thermostat.
In the image, right by his tail...The black probe is from that and the white box is my govee.
That probe, while possibly to cover, would not be the ideal spot for him to bask but is the highest spot available closest to the bulb...
Just out of curiosity how long do we feed every day? I'm starting to taper from every day to every other and both days on weekends but I was starting to see left over feeders in his bowl so I slowed
Down.
Maybe I should pick it back up since he eats so fast when I put his feeders in now
Yeah unfortunately I'll have to agree with others here and say trying to sell a sick animal seems like grasping at straws to try to get some money back despite the actual motivation unfortunately.
If you care for the well being of the animal then adoption out to someone who will take the...
So the thermostat is set to 83 and the govee shows 77 for the day. You can. See at 9am my long misting goes off and drops the temp until that moisture has evaporated.
The 6 degree difference is something my engineer Braun can't handle and will need to investigate but I'm guessing it has...
Hey everyone!
Saw one of these in another thread and it's something I've been wanting for awhile so I spent the $26 (at the time of writing this) on the reptizoo PID dimming thermostat.
I've only had it plugged in for 2 days now but it works and I have the probe next to my govee temp sensor...
With the sun setting so early, the colder temps, and the dry wind we get here in Southern California my guy went on a food strike too this week.
He would eat 10 small/medium dubias a day as his staple diet and I went away for 3 days, put some in his feeder, and came back and they were all...
I have a zen "style" cage I DIY'd and I have my lamps just sitting on top.
If you have a 3d printer or access to one I'm sure you could print a solution instead of the pots.
Would love to add silk worms into the rotation but most suppliers I've found are all east coast and I'd prefer not to pay for overnight / 2 day shipping.
Anyone know of any west coast suppliers?
He was up by the heat bulb (my other recent post) and he was agitated when I went to go grab him... he was jumpy and trying to "escape" my grasp for sure. Not normal. I think maybe the high heat up by the bulbay have contributed
He is fired up here for sure.
Also his eating habits have changed...
Here is a picture of my guy I got in July!
His colors are coming in so well!
Also he loves to be handled. As soon as I open his cage to add food he runs over and climbs up my arm!
